Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên17/02/2024

According to the investigation agency, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, the demand for visiting places of worship, spiritual places, participating in religious events and activities of people and tourists increased. These are religious activities of people to pray for health and fortune.

However, the investigation agency recommends that people need to be more vigilant against scams. Especially, they need to be alert to cases of impersonating monks to call for charity and donations, taking advantage of people's superstition and ignorance to fabricate fantastic stories.

Specifically, making up stories about being under a spell or having health problems to lure people into offering prayers to ward off bad luck, performing magic... to scam people.

The Da Nang City Police Department recommends that people should be vigilant, not believe or listen to those who practice superstition. When having health problems, they should go to medical facilities for treatment, to avoid becoming victims of property fraud.
