Traffic police received 391 applications for driver's license renewal on the first day.

On the evening of March 1st, the Traffic Police Department announced that on the first day of receiving applications for driver's license renewals, localities received 391 applications, including 344 received directly and 47 received through the Public Service Portal.

Mr. Doan Huu Cuong (residing in Ha Dong, Hanoi) came to complete the procedures for upgrading his driver's license from B1 to C1.

"The entire process, from submitting the application and having the photo taken to receiving the appointment slip, only took about 5 minutes. I found it very quick and convenient," Mr. Cuong commented.

After completing the procedures and paying the required fees, citizens will receive an appointment slip to pick up their driver's license. Within 3 working days, citizens will receive the electronic driver's license via VNeID; 2 days later, they will receive the hard copy of the driver's license.

Starting next week, the police force will widely announce that they will be accepting applications on Saturdays to facilitate convenience for the public.

According to the Traffic Police Department, administrative procedures for issuing and renewing driver's licenses will not change when the authority is transferred between the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Public Security .

Citizens can continue the normal procedures for renewing their driver's licenses at designated reception points and through the public service management website (https://dvc4.gplx.gov.vn/).

Previously, at the handover ceremony for the state management of driver's license testing and issuance from the Ministry of Transport to the Ministry of Public Security, Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, stated that the Ministry will organize and implement this work scientifically, effectively, and without interruption; ensuring fairness and transparency in the process of testing and issuing/renewing driver's licenses; and continuously promoting the application of information technology and digitalization to reform administrative procedures in order to create the most favorable conditions for people both domestically and internationally.
