Successfully treated a patient with multiple severe injuries after a traffic accident

The patient was admitted to the hospital in critical condition with many injuries such as: traumatic brain injury, abdominal trauma, maxillofacial fractures, fractures of both forearms and hands, fractures of both femurs, and fracture of the left patella.

In particular, the patient fell into traumatic shock, severe blood loss, life-threatening .

Upon receiving the patient, Quang Nam General Hospital mobilized the coordination of many teams: Orthopedic Trauma - Burns, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology, Dentistry, Surgical Resuscitation... The patient was given emergency treatment and 6 units of blood were transfused to sustain life.

After the intensive resuscitation phase at the Surgical Intensive Care Department, when the patient's health gradually stabilized, he was transferred to the Orthopedic Trauma - Burn Center for continued treatment.

The multidisciplinary surgical team of Orthopedics - Burns and Dentistry performed the surgery lasting more than 4 hours, treating the complex injuries. As a result, the patient overcame the critical stage and gradually recovered.

After a week of post-operative care and monitoring, the patient was discharged in stable condition.
