Super fast biometric update on VietinBank iPay Mobile via VNeID

Báo Đại biểu Nhân dânBáo Đại biểu Nhân dân19/01/2025

In addition to biometric identification of customers via NFC-embedded citizen identification cards (CCCD), customers can now authenticate biometrically on VietinBank iPay Mobile via the VNeID application. Thereby, helping the process of biometric identification of customers become simpler and faster. According to statistics after nearly 6 months of implementation, nearly 7 million VietinBank customers have authenticated biometrically; of which, 90% of people authenticate online and 10% do it at the transaction counter.
Previously, updating biometrics by NFC scanning required customers to do it on smart mobile devices, with limitations on operating system versions. Thus, for customers using old generation smart mobile devices that cannot upgrade the version, updating biometrics is difficult, customers have to go directly to the transaction counter for support. Now, with the signing of the implementation of electronic authentication service via VNeID on VietinBank iPay Mobile, customers only need a few simple steps on the VNeID application, customers can complete the biometric authentication process without having to go to a bank branch. In addition, customers do not need to worry about the mobile device used not supporting NFC to read information on the CCCD chip.
