The new bridge over the Duong River with its unique design is gradually taking shape.

After more than 2 years of construction, the bridge over the Duong River, including a railway bridge and a road bridge, with a total investment of nearly 1,850 billion VND, is gradually taking shape, marking an important step forward in the project to upgrade the Duong River waterway transport in the 2021-2025 period.

The project, which was started by the Ministry of Construction in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee in July 2023, is expected to be completed in 2025. The project will be built in the area of ​​Thuong Thanh and Duc Giang wards (old Long Bien district) and Yen Vien town (old Gia Lam district), replacing the old Duong bridge which is currently operating as a joint railway and road.

At the scene, two piers of the T3 and T4 bridges in the middle of the river were revealed with a unique elliptical design, creating a modern architectural highlight. The railway bridge section is more than 1 km long, about 16.5 m from the old bridge, has completed the installation of 2 main girders, preparing to deploy the secondary girder spans in November 2025.

However, the project progress is still facing difficulties due to slow site clearance. Currently, only about 8% of the required area has been handed over, while more than 90% of the remaining area has not been cleared, 8 months behind schedule.

The approach road area on both sides of the bridge is under construction, connecting with the existing road in Thuong Thanh ward (old Long Bien).

The new railway bridge is about 16.5 meters from the old Duong bridge, coinciding with the planned location of Hanoi urban railway line No. 1.
