Myanmar fans turned the Chonburi stadium into a "cauldron," blazing with excitement ahead of the match against Vietnam.
The Myanmar fans truly turned the Chonburi stadiums into their home grounds at this year's SEA Games 33. For the previous match against the Philippines on December 5th at Thai University Stadium, about an hour before kick-off, nearly 5,000 spectators crowded into the stadium, filling stands B and C with flags and creating a chaotic mix of sounds and a vibrant atmosphere. For today's match against Vietnam at the main Chonburi stadium, they went even further, creating a frenzied atmosphere three hours before kick-off, generating an overwhelming surge of energy.

We arrived at Chonburi Stadium at 12:45 PM, thinking we were early, but to our surprise, thousands of people were already queuing to enter. At 1 PM, as soon as the gates opened, the entrances to the stands became like a marketplace as the overwhelming number of Myanmar fans pushed and shoved to get inside. Security personnel and QR code checkers worked incredibly hard due to the sheer number of people. These teams were constantly reinforced and were very flexible, focusing on quick security checks to promptly handle the ever-increasing crowd and prevent congestion at the gates.

Around 2 PM, the stadium had filled more than three-quarters of Stand B. Based on the match schedule, the Myanmar team was behind, so their technical area should be on the right side of Stand A. Therefore, Myanmar fans were instructed to move to the right, including Stands B, A4, and C. However, due to the overwhelming number of fans, they spilled over to the left, towards the Vietnamese team's technical area. The Chonburi stadium, with a capacity of 8,600 people, already had more than two-thirds of Stand B occupied, and a corner of Stands C and A4, meaning over 5,000 Myanmar fans had arrived. This number will certainly continue to rise as there are still nearly two hours before kick-off.

The intense atmosphere created by the Myanmar fans from all sides of the stands forced the stadium organizers to repeatedly use loudspeakers to remind everyone to maintain order, not to climb over the railings and seats, and to ensure the security and safety of the match. Many flags and banners, made by Myanmar fans over the past few days for the big match against Vietnam, were hung throughout the stands, creating a lively scene. Despite the constant reminders, the cheers and shouts of the Myanmar fans remained fierce and showed no signs of slowing down.

Complete the entry procedures.

We looked for Vietnamese fans and found a small group already at the stadium. They are seated on the left side of Stand A, in the technical area reserved for Coach Mai Duc Chung's team. Currently, it's not crowded, and according to some Vietnamese people living in Chonburi, everyone has been urging and encouraging each other to be at the stadium today. However, it will probably take almost an hour before the match, around 3 PM to 3:30 PM, before it gets crowded. Hopefully, Vietnamese fans will arrive in large numbers and earlier to create a fiery atmosphere for this crucial match.
