Smoke and flames engulfed a foam mattress factory spanning over 2,000 square meters in Tan Uyen City, with many workers attempting to escape on the afternoon of January 20th.
At approximately 12:30 PM, a fire broke out in a corner of a mattress manufacturing company's factory in Khanh Long neighborhood, Tan Phuoc Khanh ward. The factory contained flammable materials such as rubber and fabric, so the fire quickly engulfed the thousands of square meters of production area, accompanied by several loud explosions and columns of smoke rising dozens of meters into the air.

Some security guards and production workers used on-site fire extinguishers to try to put out the fire but were unsuccessful, and then tried to escape. The fire occurred near an urban area, so there was a risk of it spreading to many residential houses.
The Binh Duong Provincial Fire Department dispatched more than 10 specialized vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene. By 2 PM, the rescue forces had basically brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading.
