(NLĐO) - Over the past two school years, Trung Hieu Secondary School has experienced numerous incidents of students fighting and sustaining injuries, but the principal has failed to implement effective solutions.

On November 11th, Mr. Tran Cong Thanh, Head of the Education and Training Department of Vung Liem District (Vinh Long Province), stated that the Disciplinary Council had met and proposed a warning as a disciplinary measure against Mr. Vo Huu Tran, Principal of Trung Hieu Secondary School.

"The principal concealed the incident of students fighting and did not report it to the department," Mr. Thanh said, explaining his reasoning for proposing the aforementioned disciplinary action.

In addition, the Department of Education and Training of Vung Liem District also conducted a review and drew lessons from the actions of Mr. Huynh Hoang Hai, the homeroom teacher, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thanh, the head teacher in charge of student affairs.

Mr. Hai's classroom management was lax. Students repeatedly fought in class, but he failed to detect it and did not implement any solutions to manage or prevent student fights. Meanwhile, Ms. Thanh did not fulfill her responsibilities in managing student discipline and did not adequately care for students who were attacked by their peers…

Previously, on September 21st, nine eighth-grade students from Trung Hieu Secondary School used chairs and helmets to beat a classmate and filmed the incident.

Trung Hieu Secondary School has established a Disciplinary Council and unanimously recommended that the principal issue a disciplinary decision in the form of a one-year suspension from school for eight students who assaulted their classmate, and a two-week suspension for the student who filmed the incident. The students who stood by and watched, without reporting or assisting their classmate, were reprimanded in front of the entire school and had their conduct grade lowered by one level.

Over the past two school years, Trung Hieu Secondary School has experienced numerous incidents of students fighting and sustaining injuries. The vice principal and teachers have repeatedly suggested disciplinary action against the students, but the principal has failed to implement effective solutions or address the issues thoroughly.

Regarding the incident on September 21st where a group of students fought and filmed it, Mr. Tran failed to promptly handle the situation and report it to higher-level leaders; he also failed to inform the families of the students who were assaulted in a timely manner so that they could provide support.
