The Investigation Police Department of Binh Duong province announced today that it has served the decision to prosecute and the order prohibiting leaving the place of residence to Tran Van Hoang Giang (born in 1987, from Binh Phuoc, residing in Thu Dau Mot city) to investigate the act of "causing environmental pollution".

According to the initial investigation, Giang is the owner of the branch of Hoang Giang Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. (located in Lai Hung commune, Bau Bang district).
During its operation, Giang allowed others to dump and bury more than 2.2 million kilograms of industrial waste on a plot of land spanning thousands of square meters within the company premises, in order to profit.
Through investigative measures, the police force identified the location of the illegal waste burial and proceeded to conduct an inspection.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered industrial waste haphazardly buried across a plot of land spanning thousands of square meters. The area was enclosed by corrugated iron sheets and situated amidst rubber plantations.
Determining that Giang's actions showed signs of causing environmental pollution, the investigating agency initiated a criminal case and charged the suspect.

Previously, in August 2022, forces from the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control (Ministry of Public Security), in coordination with the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, inspected the waste treatment site of Tra Vinh Environmental Company Limited (Tan Long commune, Phu Giao district), and discovered that the company had illegally buried a large quantity of waste such as coal slag, fly ash, coffee grounds, packaging, chemical drums, oil-contaminated packaging, glass, etc.
All of this waste was buried by the company in a plot of land approximately 28,000 square meters in size, located next to the Cau stream which connects to the Be River.
Environmental company director arrested for burying 25,000 tons of waste.
Owner of seafood processing facility arrested for burying 600 tons of waste.
Regarding the illegal dumping of waste near the Bé River, the Chairman of Binh Duong Province has ordered strict handling of the case.
