In a recent statement, Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee - Director of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) said that he will impress the 10 sports delegations participating in the 33rd SEA Games from the moment they all set foot at the airport, with a team of volunteers ready to support and provide information, as well as a security team always on duty to ensure safety.
In addition, the Organizing Committee has coordinated with relevant agencies to set up a separate lane exclusively for the 33rd SEA Games. Buses transporting officials, coaches and athletes from hotels to the competition venue will be escorted by police, and will coordinate with traffic police to facilitate the journey. However, the Organizing Committee also affirmed that it will not block the road or affect the daily life of Thai people.
"The sports delegations attending the 33rd SEA Games are considered international guests and deserve the warmest welcome. We have mobilized thousands of police, including plainclothes police, to ensure maximum security from the time they arrive at the airport, to their accommodation and competition venues," said Dr. Kongsak.
On December 1, host Thailand also inaugurated the "International Broadcasting Center and Media Coordination Center for the 33rd SEA Games" with a construction cost of up to 1 billion baht and fully equipped with modern technology according to world- class standards.
According to Ms. Sudruthai Lertkasem, Director General of the Public Relations Department, the 33rd SEA Games will be the most vibrant ever with more than 30 sports being broadcast, and is considering granting broadcasting rights to sports federations through their platforms for non-profit purposes.
