The chairman of a corporation with tens of thousands of employees in Vietnam receives 0 VND, the CEO's salary is nearly 22 billion VND.

Mr. Danny Le, CEO of Masan Group, received salary, bonus and other benefits of nearly VND21.8 billion in 2024, an increase of more than 50% compared to the previous year.

Masan Group Corporation (MSN) has just announced its audited consolidated financial statements for 2024.

In this report, MSN explained in detail the income that Mr. Danny Le, the group's general director, received in 2024.

Accordingly, the total salary, bonus and other benefits this CEO received last year was nearly 21.8 billion VND, a sharp increase compared to 14.7 billion VND last year.

Thus, on average, Mr. Danny receives more than 1.8 billion VND per month and is the only leader to receive remuneration.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Masan - and all members of the Board of Directors as well as the audit committee received 0 VND.

Although very high compared to many other businesses, Mr. Danny Le's income is still lower than Mr. Jens Lottner - General Director of Techcombank - with a salary of more than 25.66 billion VND in 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang is both chairman of Masan and vice chairman of Techcombank.

In general, the income that both Masan and Techcombank "generously" spend on CEOs is much higher than the average income of 2.5 billion VND that general directors on the stock exchange receive in 2023, according to data from Fiingroup.

Also according to a report from Fiingroup, in the top 15 enterprises with the highest CEO income in 2023, the top position belongs to Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation (KBC) with 17 billion VND.

Thus, it can be seen that the income received by CEO Masan and Techcombank in 2024 is much higher than the highest level recorded in 2023.

Regarding Masan, at the end of 2024, the group had 34,835 employees, a slight decrease compared to the end of last year.

For the whole year of 2024, MSN's consolidated revenue reached nearly VND 83,178 billion, up 6.3% and reaching the highest level in nearly 3 years. Pre-tax accounting profit recorded more than VND 6,024 billion, more than 2.35 times higher.
