President Luong Cuong offers incense to commemorate Hung Kings

The incense offering ceremony took place solemnly and respectfully in the early morning of April 7 (March 10 of the lunar calendar) at the Hung Temple historical relic site ( Phu Tho ).

Offering incense to the Hung Kings with President Luong Cuong were General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Minister of National Defense ; Nguyen Khac Dinh, Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mai Van Chinh, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Van Hung, Party Central Committee member, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism...

Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and the Central delegation and Phu Tho province set off to Nghia Linh mountain to offer incense in memory of the Hung Kings.

Comrade Bui Van Quang, Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee presided over the ceremony. The delegation performed the ceremony in light rain, making the atmosphere of the incense offering ceremony more sacred.

From 6:20 a.m., the procession with honor guards carrying the national flag, festival flags, wreaths bearing the words "Forever grateful to the Hung Kings for their contributions to building the country", flower baskets; 18 young women wearing traditional red ao dai carrying incense, flower bouquets, offerings; a group of 100 Lac Hong descendants carrying festival flags... and the delegates began to depart from the Hung Temple Festival Center yard.

At exactly 7 o'clock, the incense offering ceremony took place solemnly and respectfully at the Upper Temple.

After performing these sacred rituals, the delegation and the ceremonial team moved to the front of the relief of Uncle Ho to talk with the officers and soldiers of the Vanguard Army Corps at the Gieng Temple 5-way intersection.

Here, the delegation performed the ceremony of offering a flower basket with the words "Forever remember and follow Uncle Ho's teachings" to the music of the song "At Uncle Ho's Monument" by musician Lu Nhat Vu.

While delegates performed the incense offering ceremony to the Hung Kings, thousands of people lined up in the rain below the Hung Temple Festival Center yard, waiting for their turn to enter the ceremony and visit.

And tens of thousands of people continue to flock to Hung Temple Festival to offer incense in memory of the National Ancestors.

As usual, the familiar image is groups of people including children, the elderly, young men and women making a pilgrimage to the homeland together, regardless of the cold, rainy weather.

This year is an even year, the festival is held on a grand scale, with the participation of Central leaders.

The festival also attracts a large number of people to visit and make offerings a week before. Notably, this year's Hung King's death anniversary falls on Monday, combined with the weekend to form a relatively long holiday, so people from all over flock to the festival.

The organizers recorded a record number of people attending the festival. On April 6, the main day of the festival, the Hung Temple Festival welcomed 300,000 visitors, according to preliminary statistics from Phu Tho Provincial Police.

Despite the large number of visitors, security, order and traffic safety are still well ensured at the Hung Temple festival area and throughout Phu Tho province.

After the celebrant read the memorial speech for the Hung Kings in the front yard of the Upper Temple, President Luong Cuong and delegates offered incense, flowers, and gifts at the upper palace of the Upper Temple and offered incense and flowers at the Hung Kings' mausoleum.
