On December 3, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung led a working delegation to inspect the construction progress of Component Project 1, part of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project, Phase 1. Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung inspected the construction progress of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway phase I.

Component 1 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway (phase 1) has a total length of over 57km. Of which, the section passing through An Giang province is over 56.4km long. The project has a total investment of over 13,500 billion VND. The entire route will have 5 intersections, 33 bridges; an intelligent transportation system (ITS), a non-stop toll collection system and a rest stop at Km22+300...

According to the An Giang Provincial Project Management Board, the total construction output of the project reached 66.47% (exceeding about 0.09% of the contract value), equivalent to the actual output value of about 5,577 billion VND. Currently, contractors are urgently paving asphalt, striving to complete about 25km of asphalt concrete road surface by December 19, 2025; the 32.014km section strives to complete the crushed stone pavement to open the route to traffic.

Through the actual survey, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung highly appreciated the efforts of the contractors to complete ahead of schedule. At the same time, he praised the spirit of ensuring construction progress of Thanh Huy contractor, both laying carpets according to plan and installing fences, ensuring safety of the project.

Comrade Ho Van Mung emphasized that the project is in the final stage and requested contractors to continue to urgently construct, arrange "3 shifts, 4 crews", work "through the sun and rain"; increase equipment, machinery and human resources to ensure progress according to plan.

Regarding the difficulties of investors, mainly regarding sand resources, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested the Provincial People's Committee Office to coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for opinions so that contractors can take over Tan My mine.

Regarding the disbursement of public investment capital, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested contractors to complete the documents and procedures in accordance with regulations; for any completed documents, the Provincial Project Management Board must immediately disburse.

Request the Provincial Project Management Board to regularly inspect and urge contractors to speed up project implementation progress and capital disbursement.

For intersections and smart management stations, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Project Management Board to coordinate with the Department of Construction to urgently complete the items according to the set plan; coordinate with contractors to carefully prepare for the traffic opening ceremony, scheduled to be held on February 19, 2026.
