In the temple grounds there is a 20 meter high, 250 ton Maitreya Buddha statue, cast in reinforced concrete and inaugurated in 2010. Vinh Trang is a famous ancient pagoda and a unique architectural work. The pagoda was started to be built in the early 19th century by Mr. and Mrs. Bui Cong Dat. In 1894, Venerable Thich Hue Dang from Giac Lam Pagoda (Gia Dinh) came to preside over the construction of a large pagoda and named it Vinh Truong Pagoda with the wish for the pagoda to be "Eternal facing the mountains and rivers, everlasting with heaven and earth". Today, the pagoda has become an unmissable tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists when they have the opportunity to visit Dong Thap.
