According to the report of the General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Finance ), the total import-export turnover of goods in November was nearly 77.1 billion USD, down 5.4% compared to the previous month but up 15.6% compared to the same period last year. Of which, the export value decreased by 7.1% and the import value decreased by 3.7%.
In the first 11 months, total import-export turnover reached 839.7 billion USD, 17.2% higher than the same period last year. This is the highest level ever and marks the first time Vietnam has surpassed the 800 billion USD mark.
Regarding exports, the General Statistics Office said that turnover reached about 430.1 billion USD, up 16.1%. Imports reached 409.6 billion USD (up 18.4%). This difference helped Vietnam's trade balance establish a surplus of more than 20.5 billion USD after 11 months.
The main driving force is the key products. Specifically, in 11 months, there were 36 export items worth over 1 billion USD, and 8 items worth over 10 billion USD. On the import side, 47 items earned over 1 billion USD, 6 items worth over 10 billion USD.
FDI is still the largest contributor to Vietnam's exports, accounting for more than 76%. Foreign enterprises (including crude oil) exported about 327.7 billion USD, up 23.1%. In contrast, they imported 281.2 billion USD, up 28%.
The US continues to be Vietnam's leading export market with 138.6 billion USD, while China is the largest import partner with 167.5 billion USD.

At the Government meeting on December 6, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said that with the current growth rate, import and export for the whole year of 2025 could reach 920 billion USD or higher. Thereby, Vietnam will be among the 15 countries with the largest trade scale in the world .
To achieve the yearly target, the Minister said the agency will continue to support businesses in effectively exploiting FTAs and expanding traditional and potential markets, especially those with high growth.
