EVERYTHING IS READY
The second qualifying round of the Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament 2024 - THACO Cup (TNSV THACO Cup 2024) for the northern region will take place from February 26th to March 5th, with 11 matches promising to be exciting and vibrant at the Water Resources University Stadium. This is the second year that the Water Resources University has been chosen as the venue for the qualifying round of the Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament in the northern region. Over the past few months, all parties have held regular meetings to discuss organization and coordinate closely to ensure everything runs smoothly. To prepare for the opening ceremony, one day beforehand, Thanh Nien Newspaper and the Water Resources University will conduct a thorough rehearsal of the event, ensuring meticulous logistics, sound systems, and the reception of guests, participating teams, the press, media, and fans. In particular, the Water Resources University is paying close attention to cleaning the stadium grounds to ensure a beautiful image for the tournament.
The Water Resources University held a meeting to finalize preparations for the qualifying round.
"The entire university has been preparing the infrastructure since last year, from the smallest details such as the quality of the grass, the markings on the field, the parking lot, the restrooms… when we hosted the northern qualifying round, because we understand that this is the face of the Water Resources University, contributing to building a professional and systematic image for the student football movement nationwide," shared Professor Nguyen Trung Viet, Vice Rector of the Water Resources University.

At the meeting to finalize the organization of the northern qualifying round, Mr. Nguyen Trung Viet and the tournament's organizing committee reviewed various aspects, paying particular attention to security and medical issues. " Thanh Nien Newspaper, the Water Resources University, and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have developed a comprehensive plan for the organization in terms of security, medical care, and professional standards… The parties have agreed to finalize negotiations with partners to prepare security forces to protect the matches, on duty throughout the duration of the matches and the opening and closing ceremonies, ensuring that the matches are conducted in a civilized and safe manner, in line with the spirit of 'playing beautifully, winning beautifully, and cheering beautifully'. The Water Resources University also prioritizes medical care. No one wants medical incidents at the matches, but the organizing committee is always ready to act to ensure the health of the participating teams. Medical care needs to be thoroughly reviewed throughout the qualifying round to meet professional standards," the leader of the Water Resources University emphasized.
PROFESSIONAL AND ENTHUSIASTIC CHEERING
The Water Resources University is considered to have extensive experience in organizing student football tournaments, with a long-standing sporting tradition. "The happiest thing is that when the Water Resources University team plays away from home, such as in the finals of the 1st Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2023, the players still receive very enthusiastic support. This shows that the love for grassroots football has deeply permeated the student community. This motivates the Water Resources University not only to play better but also to organize the tournament meticulously as the host. We will strive because this is also an opportunity for the Water Resources University to showcase its enthusiastic and energetic image," Vice Rector Nguyen Trung Viet assessed.
Teacher Nguyen Trung Viet chaired the meeting.
According to Coach Vu Van Trung, the support of the fans will be the foundation for the success of not only the Water Resources University, but also the entire tournament: "The qualifying matches of the THACO Cup 2024 will have a large number of students and fans coming to watch and cheer. Many weeks before the tournament, the school's leadership, the Youth Union, and the Student Association have stirred up the movement, mobilizing students to 'fuel' the participating teams. Besides organizing a large team of supporters and volunteers, we also plan to organize cheerleading groups to make the cheering more organized and create a fiery atmosphere for the matches."
The opening ceremony of the northern qualifiers will take place on February 26th, signaling the start of intense competition for the two spots in the finals among nine very strong representatives from the North.
