On their homepage, Hanoi Police Football Club announced the appointment of Kiatisak Senamuang as the team's new head coach. " Welcome Coach Kiatisak Senamuang. New head coach, new journey ," the police football team wrote.
Previously, on January 10th, HAGL FC confirmed their departure from coach Kiatisak after nearly four seasons. Kiatisak joined HAGL FC in the 2021 season. The 2021 V.League season saw HAGL perform brilliantly, leading the league table for 12 rounds before the season was cancelled. In the 2023/2024 season, HAGL faced many difficulties and is currently at the bottom of the table.
Coach Kiatisak is leading Hanoi Police FC.
On the evening of January 11th, coach Kiatisak spoke about his decision to join Hanoi Police FC. He stated that he received support from Chairman Duc.
" Mr. Duc supported my joining Hanoi Police FC. He said I could help the new team achieve glory, the players there could improve, and this would also be a way to contribute to Vietnamese football."
"It's difficult for me to say goodbye to HAGL. I love this team very much and have many memories here. It's hard to make this decision. I want more challenges for myself and I choose Hanoi Police FC ," Coach Kiatisak said in a television program.
Coach Kiatisak will begin his new role from this moment. The Thai coach's goal is to help Hanoi Police FC return to the championship race. He even wants the team to win the championship for the second consecutive time, as HAGL once did, and to participate in continental competitions with Hanoi Police FC.
After 8 rounds, Hanoi Police FC is ranked 5th in the V.League standings. They have 12 points, 7 points behind the leading team, Nam Dinh FC.
Prior to coach Kiatisak, Hanoi Police FC was led by two coaches, Tran Tien Dai and Gong Oh-kyun. Tran Tien Dai is currently the team's technical director, while coach Gong Oh-kyun lost his coaching position from round 8 of V.League 2024 due to poor performance.
