Central defender Huynh Tan Sinh, along with Hanoi Police FC, won the V-League 2023 championship. This is the third time this player has won the top Vietnamese football league title. Notably, he achieved this while playing for three different teams.
Only three players had previously achieved this feat: former goalkeeper Vo Van Hanh, former midfielder Nguyen Minh Phuong, and midfielder Nguyen Trong Hoang.
Tấn Sinh won his first V-League championship in 2017 with Quảng Nam FC. Last season, the player born in 1998 lifted the trophy with Hanoi FC.
Huynh Tan Sinh (wearing the captain's armband) has won the V-League championship 3 times.
Former goalkeeper Vo Van Hanh won the championship with SLNA (2001), HAGL (2003, 2004) and Da Nang Club (2009). Former midfielder Minh Phuong won the championship with Saigon Port (2002), Dong Tam Long An (2005, 2006) and Da Nang Club (2012). Meanwhile, midfielder Nguyen Trong Hoang won the championship with SLNA (2011), Binh Duong Club (2014, 2015) and Viettel (2020).
Some players and former players who have won the V-League championship with the two teams include Quang Hai, Van Hau (Hanoi FC, Hanoi Police FC), Le Cong Vinh (Hanoi T&T, Binh Duong), Tan Truong (Binh Duong, Hanoi FC), Nguyen Viet Thang (HAGL, Dong Tam Long An),...
The V-League 2023 championship concludes a memorable season for Hanoi Police FC. They replicated HAGL's feat from 20 years ago when they won the championship in their first season after being promoted.
To achieve this success, Hanoi Police FC invested heavily and almost completely revamped their squad compared to the 2022 First Division champions. Huynh Tan Sinh is one of the team's notable signings.
In addition, they recruited a host of players including Van Duc, Van Hau, Van Thanh, Tan Tai, etc. Notably, two stars from abroad, Quang Hai and Filip Nguyen, arrived at Hang Day Stadium in the middle of the season.
