Kinhtedothi - On the evening of February 8th, at the square of Tam Chuc Tourist Area, Kim Bang town, Ha Nam province, a ceremony was held to announce Resolution No. 1228 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the establishment of Kim Bang town. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh attended the ceremony.
Attending the program were: Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan, former Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Vice President of Vietnam, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Learning ; Ms. Le Thi Nga, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairwoman of the Judicial Committee; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; leaders of the National Assembly Office, and representatives of leaders from ministries, departments, and central organizations.
Due to work commitments, Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, and Head of the Hanoi City National Assembly Delegation, was unable to attend the ceremony but sent a congratulatory flower arrangement.
Representing Ha Nam province were: Ms. Le Thi Thuy, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Government, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Dinh Thi Lua, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; former members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; generals in the armed forces; leaders of provincial departments, agencies, the Fatherland Front, and political and social organizations; representatives from districts, towns, and cities; and a large number of local people and visitors from all over the country.
After the re-establishment of Ha Nam province in 1997, Kim Bang started with a low economic base and outdated, inconsistent infrastructure. Production was primarily agricultural, dependent on nature. However, thanks to the unity, effort, and creativity of the leadership at all levels and sectors, and the solidarity of the people, Kim Bang has now risen strongly, creating positive and comprehensive changes in all fields. Kim Bang has developed rapidly and sustainably, with its economic structure shifting towards industry, tourism, and services, while protecting the environment and promoting cultural heritage. The industry and construction sector accounts for 64.55%, services 30%, while agriculture, forestry, and fisheries have decreased to 5.45%. The tourism and service sector has experienced breakthrough development, with major projects such as the Tam Chuc National Tourist Area, Kim Bang Golf Course (Ba Sao), and the Legend Valley Country Club sports complex, making Kim Bang an attractive destination for domestic and international tourists. Kim Bang's industrial sector is undergoing a strong transformation with two industrial parks already in operation, two others under preparation, and six industrial clusters currently under investment and operation. Culture and society are developing comprehensively, security and defense are stable, and the people's living standards are steadily improving.
On November 14, 2024, at its 39th session, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly adopted Resolution No. 1288/NQ-UBTVQH on the establishment of Kim Bang town. Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly resolved to establish Kim Bang town based on the entire natural area of 175.40 km² and a population of 145,744 people of Kim Bang district. After its establishment, Kim Bang town will have 17 commune-level administrative units, including 10 wards: Ba Sao, Dai Cuong, Dong Hoa, Le Ho, Ngoc Son, Que, Tan Son, Tan Tuu, Thi Son, Tuong Linh and 7 communes: Hoang Tay, Kha Phong, Lien Son, Nguyen Uy, Thanh Son, Thuy Loi, Van Xa.
This is a politically significant event, a source of pride and honor, and a driving force for the Party Committee, government, and people of Kim Bang to build a town that is increasingly prosperous, beautiful, and civilized. It is an important milestone in the development era of Kim Bang town in particular, and of Ha Nam province in general.
At the ceremony to present the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the establishment of Kim Bang town, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh praised and congratulated the achievements and results that the Party Committee, government and people of Ha Nam province in general and Kim Bang town in particular have achieved in the past.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed that Kim Bang becoming a town directly under the province is not only a recognition and a testament to the central government's trust in the locality's position and development potential, but also a driving force for Kim Bang to continue focusing resources on investing in the development of technical and social infrastructure, meeting the criteria of a dynamic, modern, and civilized urban area.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly urged the Party Committee, government, and people of Ha Nam province and Kim Bang town to continue their efforts and strive to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, focusing on the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.
At the same time, effectively implement the Party's viewpoints and policies on urban planning, construction, management, and sustainable development, creating a multi-centered development space for the province to optimize resources, create opportunities, and provide synchronized growth momentum for localities within the province.
Immediately following the announcement ceremony, a special art program titled "Kim Bang – An Era of Rising Power" took place. The program consisted of three chapters: Chapter 1: Kim Bang – A Land of Spiritual Significance and Outstanding People – Recreating the historical journey of the formation and development of the Kim Bang region. Chapter 2: Kim Bang – Harmonizing with the Nation – Depicting the transformations during the period of integration, rising strongly in harmony with the nation in an era of rising power, and developing alongside the country towards the future. Chapter 3: Kim Bang – Reaching High and Shining – Conveying the aspiration to break through, conquer new heights, and strive towards a brilliant future for this unique land.
