Kinhtedothi - The Hanoi People's Committee has issued Decision No. 6443/QD-UBND dated December 16, 2024, on declaring a state of emergency due to landslides on the right bank of the Da and Hong dykes in Ba Vi district and issuing an order to construct emergency works to prevent dyke landslides.
The downstream slope of the right bank of the Da River has collapsed from K7+850 to K8+080 in Tong Bat commune, with a length of approximately 230m. The downstream slope of the right bank of the Hong River has collapsed from K6+700 to K6+920 in Co Do commune, with a collapsed section length of approximately 220m.

The ongoing landslides pose a safety risk to the right bank of the Da River in Tong Bat and Co Do communes, Ba Vi district; directly affecting the safety of people and vehicles traveling in the area where the landslides are occurring.
Regarding immediate emergency measures: The Hanoi People's Committee assigns the Ba Vi District People's Committee to take the lead and coordinate with the Department of Irrigation and Disaster Prevention to maintain warnings and implement measures to ensure the safety of people and vehicles participating in traffic on the dike within the landslide area.
In addition, continue to organize initial response efforts according to the "four on-site" principle, implement appropriate reinforcement measures to minimize the development of landslides, clear drainage ditches, and take measures to prevent rainwater from flowing into cracks and subsidence. Coordinate with the project management units to strengthen inspections and closely monitor the situation. In case of detecting potential risks to dike safety, immediately report to the City's Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command Committee.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is tasked with immediately demarcating areas at risk of landslides, regularly updating and reporting on the landslide situation and the progress of remediation efforts. They should proactively coordinate with the Ba Vi District People's Committee to closely monitor landslide developments, organize initial response measures based on the "four on-the-spot" principle, implement appropriate reinforcement measures to minimize the spread of landslides, and widely publicize the emergency situation.
The media outlets are disseminating information and warnings about the emergency situation so that people are aware and can take proactive measures to prevent it.
In this Decision, the People's Committee of Hanoi City issued an Order to construct the project "Emergency remediation of landslides on the right bank of the Da and Hong dykes in Ba Vi district" in Tong Bat commune and Co Do commune, Ba Vi district.
Preliminary scope, tasks, and requirements for the project: Addressing embankment slope erosion with a total treatment length of approximately 450m at the following locations: downstream of the right bank of the Da River from K7+850 to K8+080, and downstream of the right bank of the Hong River from K6+700 to K6+920.
The estimated investment cost is 18 billion VND, funded from the city's budget. Construction is scheduled to be completed before May 30, 2025. The project is expected to be finished in 2025.
