Announcing an emergency situation regarding landslides at Muong Ly Ethnic Boarding Secondary School

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just announced an emergency situation regarding natural disasters causing landslides at Muong Ly Ethnic Boarding Secondary School, Muong Ly Commune.

Thanh Hoa province has declared a state of emergency due to a natural disaster causing a landslide at Muong Ly Ethnic Boarding Secondary School.

In response to the emergency, the Provincial People's Committee instructed the People's Committee of Muong Ly commune to immediately implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of people and property of students, teachers, and staff of the Inter-agency Task Force - Inter-agency Team No. 3 in the area at risk of landslides.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested Muong Ly commune to organize regular duty shifts and closely monitor the landslide situation. In particular, they were instructed to install barriers and place warning signs within the landslide area; inform and educate residents and organizations in the area to proactively prevent and absolutely prohibit people from entering the dangerous area, especially during rain and floods. At the same time, they were urged to promptly develop, approve, and implement a response plan in accordance with regulations.

Regarding the damaged and affected items within the Muong Ly Ethnic Boarding Junior High School Project (currently under construction), the People's Committee of Muong Ly commune, in coordination with relevant units, will conduct surveys, inspections, and assessments to clarify the causes, and then promptly propose solutions to rectify the problems and ensure the long-term stability of the construction.

For existing structures located outside the scope of the ongoing project, a specific survey and assessment of the scope, scale, extent of damage, and landslides should be conducted, and appropriate remedial plans should be promptly developed; a report should be submitted to the competent authority for consideration and decision on financial support for investment and implementation.

Thanh Hoa province also assigned relevant departments and units, according to their functions and duties, the responsibility to coordinate closely and provide specific guidance to the People's Committee of Muong Ly commune to organize the implementation, ensuring compliance with regulations and completion as soon as possible.
