Many flexible and practical solutions of trade unions, especially trade unions in enterprises, have contributed to reducing conflicts, increasing dialogue and strengthening trust between employees and employers.
Promoting dialogue, the foundation of consensus
Attending the recent 2025-2030 Trade Union Congress of Vedan Vietnam Joint Stock Company (in Phuoc Thai commune), Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Quoc Dung highly appreciated the role of the grassroots Trade Union in creating solidarity, maintaining labor stability, creating motivation for employees to work with peace of mind, contributing to the development of the enterprise. "This is a bright spot that the Trade Union needs to promote in the coming term because solidarity and building trust with employees and business owners is the basis for the Trade Union to increasingly develop and perform well the tasks and solutions set out" - Mr. Dung emphasized.

The Trade Union of Vedan Vietnam Joint Stock Company was established in 1995 and currently has 83 Trade Union groups with more than 3,500 members. During the past term, the Executive Committee has performed well its function of representing and protecting the rights of employees through organizing activities to care for their lives and signing collective labor agreements with many provisions beneficial to employees. Not only acting as a bridge, the Trade Union also proactively grasps the thoughts and feedback of employees to the business leaders. In many cases, the recommendations of the Trade Union have helped businesses adjust their policies more reasonably, creating a stable and effective working environment.
Union member Le Thi Nhung, working at Vedan Vietnam Joint Stock Company, said: She feels very secure and attached when working in the stable and professional environment of the company. "What makes me stay long-term is the friendly working environment, colleagues support each other enthusiastically and the leadership always listens, creating conditions for each individual to develop their capacity. Clear welfare regimes and stable work help me feel secure to contribute and develop myself" - Ms. Nhung shared.
Grassroots trade unions in many enterprises have made strong progress in collective bargaining. Many collective labor agreements have been signed with more favorable terms for employees than those prescribed by law, especially regarding bonuses, fuel support, housing, meals, etc. Collective labor agreements are not only an important legal framework but also a common commitment to create trust between the two parties, contributing to stabilizing production and minimizing disputes. In addition, periodic dialogues have shortened the gap between enterprises and employees. According to the Provincial Labor Federation, in the period of 2023-2025, the whole province has signed 43 new agreements, bringing the total number of collective agreements to 1,384/1,690 enterprises with grassroots trade unions.
Mr. Do Nguyen Phuong, Party Cell Secretary, Chairman of the Trade Union of Yuen Foong Yu Dong Nai Paper Co., Ltd. (in Long Thanh commune) said: One of the key tasks of the Trade Union is to regularly coordinate with business owners to organize regular and ad hoc dialogues with employees. Through dialogues, many problems related to wages, benefits, occupational safety and hygiene, working hours, rest... are resolved promptly, limiting disputes from arising. In addition, collective labor agreements are one of the key, core tasks to improve employee welfare.
Building a sustainable working environment
In practice, in enterprises with effective trade unions, spontaneous strikes and work stoppages have significantly decreased; labor productivity, employee engagement and enterprise image have all been improved. Trade unions are not only a "support" to protect the rights of employees but also a "companion" of enterprises in production development. Close coordination between the two sides creates a solid foundation for harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations, a key factor for the sustainable development of enterprises.

Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation Bui Thi Bich Thuy said: Trade unions at all levels focus on disseminating labor laws, the Trade Union Law, regulations on the rights and obligations of workers, helping workers understand and comply with regulations. At the same time, training courses for trade union officials are regularly organized to improve negotiation and mediation skills and grasp the situation at the grassroots level. A full understanding of the law helps workers be more aware in their behavior, and businesses voluntarily comply with regulations, thereby limiting conflicts from arising.
In the coming time, Dong Nai Trade Union aims to continue promoting digital transformation in operations, enhancing interaction with employees through online platforms; promoting the role of a bridge between business owners and employees; building a new model of labor relations in a professional and modern direction, where the rights of employees are guaranteed, and businesses have conditions to develop sustainable production and business.

To protect the rights of workers, the Trade Union actively coordinates with competent authorities to increase visits to the grassroots to inspect and supervise the implementation of labor laws, especially those related to wages, working hours, and occupational safety and hygiene. Through monitoring sessions, inspection teams have guided enterprises to properly implement labor law regulations; increase periodic dialogues and organize labor conferences. As a result, every year, state-owned enterprises organize labor conferences at a rate of over 96%; non-state enterprises organize dialogues at the workplace at a rate of nearly 74%.
The results achieved show the important role of the Trade Union in accompanying employees and business owners. Thanks to that, the capacity to represent and protect the rights of employees is increasingly enhanced, creating motivation for employees to stick together; at the same time helping business owners realize the benefits of caring for the workforce.
