Reviewing the admission cutoff scores for military recruitment in 2023.

On the afternoon of August 18th, Senior General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, and Deputy Minister of National Defense, chaired the conference to review the admission standards for military recruitment in 2023.

The work of propaganda, career guidance, and military recruitment continues to undergo many innovations.

Attending the conference were members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam: General Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army; and Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

In 2023, the work of disseminating information and providing career guidance for military recruitment continued to see many innovations in both content and form.

The Department of Military Schools - the Standing Agency of the Military Recruitment Board of the Ministry of National Defense - has proactively coordinated with agencies, units, schools, and media outlets inside and outside the military to promote propaganda and career guidance; allocated a dedicated section and organized many thematic propaganda campaigns on military recruitment; printed and distributed propaganda films on military recruitment to local military recruitment boards and more than 4,880 high schools and Continuing Education Centers nationwide.

In the propaganda efforts, there was close interaction and connection between teachers, students, and former high school students currently studying at military schools. Many directors, principals, and political commissars of military schools directly participated in propaganda and career guidance work at high schools.

The district-level military recruitment board has proactively sent officers to high schools in the area to organize propaganda and career guidance...

The selection process was conducted rigorously and seriously.

Military academies and schools have fully disclosed all information regarding admissions as required; they have also established a permanent department to answer questions related to the selection process and preferential treatment in admissions.

Actively coordinate with the standing agency and other agencies of the Ministry of Education and Training to download admission data and compare it with preliminary selection data, promptly notifying candidates of any errors so they can make corrections.

The selection process was conducted strictly, seriously, in accordance with regulations and within the timeframe stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of National Defense...

Finalize the benchmarking plan and submit it to the Minister of National Defence for approval.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong instructed that, in the coming days, military schools should finalize the list and notify admitted candidates within the stipulated time; organize fair and accurate health check-ups for students enrolling; and implement post-admission audits in accordance with regulations.

Emphasizing that the quality of human resources for the Army must be the top priority in military recruitment, Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong noted that military schools should recruit enough personnel to meet their quotas and not add any more.

For military schools that have not yet filled their quotas, based on the specific situation, they should report and consider supplementary applications, but the score must not be lower than the officially announced cutoff score.

Military schools continue to select successful candidates to send for training abroad, and non-military schools must ensure they meet the standards and regulations of the Ministry of National Defense.

In addition, military units, schools, and localities seriously organized a comprehensive review and evaluation of the 2023 military recruitment work; developed directions for military recruitment work in 2024; and continued to build confidence among candidates and their families in choosing to register with military schools in the following years.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong instructed the Department of Military Schools (General Staff) - the Standing Agency of the Military Recruitment Board of the Ministry of National Defense and related agencies to finalize the content of the 2023 military recruitment admission cutoff scores; report specifically to the Head of the Ministry of National Defense and announce the cutoff scores according to the time stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training.
