On December 9th, the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center (ITPC) inaugurated the Vietnamese agricultural product booth cluster at the Food Africa 2025 exhibition, held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Cairo, Egypt, from December 9-12.
Participating in the program to introduce and promote Vietnamese agricultural products organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center are 36 businesses operating in the field of agricultural production, processing, and export.
With a total area of 250 m2 and designed in a modern, elegant, and professional style to optimize the visitor experience, the Ho Chi Minh City businesses' booth at Food Africa 2025 made a strong impression and attracted a large number of visitors, especially professional importers and distributors from Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa.
By participating in Food Africa Cairo 2025, businesses from Ho Chi Minh City hope to understand the needs and preferences of the Egyptian market, as well as strengthen connections, exchange information, and find partners.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen, Director of Dong Duong Import-Export Co., Ltd. (Dong Duong Food), shared: "Entering the Egyptian market, Dong Duong Food is very confident because Egypt is a central market in Africa and the Middle East. The Egyptian market currently consumes a lot of Vietnamese agricultural products. Through the Food Africa Cairo 2025 exhibition, we expect to find effective cooperative relationships to bring more and more agricultural products to the Egyptian market. We hope to find reputable customers to boost agricultural exports to Egypt."
The products displayed at the Ho Chi Minh City Business Pavilion received high praise for their quality, diversity, and competitiveness, especially those product groups with great potential in the Egyptian market such as agricultural products (pepper, cashews, coffee, rice), dried fruits and bottled beverages, canned fish, etc.

Mr. Esmail Kamal, Chairman of Rakiza Business and Trade Solutions Company (Egypt), said: "I just visited the booths of Vietnamese businesses. I found Vietnamese rice products to be excellent, similar to the Egyptian rice we are familiar with. We really found the quality of the rice to be very good. Therefore, rice is one of our best choices, as are the confectionery products. We hope to find more products at forums like Food Africa 2025 to strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese businesses."
Ms. Ho Thi Quyen, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center, stated: "Egypt is not only a large market, but also a gateway to the Middle East and African markets. Therefore, Vietnamese agricultural products have many opportunities to export to these markets. At Food Africa 2025, we hope to find opportunities and partners to expand export markets for Vietnamese agricultural products."
In particular, Vietnamese agricultural products have now gained a strong position in terms of quality, expanding their export scope to increase competitiveness in the international arena. With products such as seafood, canned tuna, rice, coffee, and many other characteristic Vietnamese agricultural products, the Vietnamese booths attracted the attention of customers. Many customers highly appreciated the quality of Vietnamese agricultural products. They left their contact information to facilitate deeper connections after the exhibition.
The strong interest from partners shows that Vietnamese agricultural products have the full potential to penetrate deeply into the supply chain in Egypt and the region. This confirms the sound trade promotion strategy of Ho Chi Minh City in selecting key markets and introducing flagship products that suit the needs and tastes of consumers in Africa and the Middle East.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Head of the Vietnamese Trade Office in Egypt, said that Vietnam has now become a reliable partner, providing a stable supply of many agricultural products that Egypt has a great need for. Products such as coffee, pepper, cashew nuts, coconut, and seafood are all strong export items for Vietnam in the Egyptian market.
With a population of 108 million and attracting approximately 17-18 million international tourists annually, Egypt is a huge market for agricultural products and food. In addition, Egypt also has a need to import large quantities of raw materials for livestock farming and food processing for export.
According to data from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam's exports of agricultural products including seafood, fruits and vegetables, cashew nuts, coffee, and pepper to Egypt reached approximately US$193 million during the period from January to November 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung noted that some other Vietnamese agricultural products such as tea and rice have not yet penetrated the Egyptian market, mainly due to price competition, but these are potential products with many opportunities in the Egyptian market.
Food Africa 2025 is one of the most important trade events for the agri-food industry in Africa and the Middle East. The event attracts over 1,100 exhibitors and major companies from dozens of countries across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
The diversity of product types and origins makes Food Africa 2025 a global trade fair, facilitating business communities in finding partners to promote import and export activities, distribution, and cross-continental supply chain connectivity.
