Authorities forcibly shut down the clinic of a 'miracle healer' who claimed to cure cancer with just alkaline ionized water.

Authorities forcibly removed an advertising sign on November 1st promoting a cure for all diseases using alkaline ionized water, belonging to Mr. Nguyen Tien Nam (born in 1958, residing at house number 47, Dia 1 Street, Dia Village, Binh Minh Commune, Thanh Oai District, Hanoi ).

This information was confirmed to Tuoi Tre Online on the afternoon of November 1st by Mr. Nguyen Van Them, chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Minh commune, Thanh Oai district, Hanoi.

Accordingly, after reading the enforcement order, the assigned forces carried out their duties. After one hour, the enforcement was completed. Local authorities removed the facility's advertising sign and encouraged some of the patients staying there to return to their hometowns.

"When the authorities arrived to enforce the regulations, Mr. Nam took out his phone and filmed. Previously, we issued a fine of 80 million VND in April 2024, but Mr. Nam did not pay. This time, he violated the regulations again, and we issued a fine of 85 million VND, but Mr. Nam still did not comply despite several reminders," Mr. Them informed.

According to Mr. Them, the authorities are currently coordinating with the district police to forcibly remove the misleading advertising signs. They are also setting up checkpoints in front of Mr. Nam's house to warn patients against seeking treatment there.

Self-proclaimed claims that drinking alkaline ionized water can cure any disease.

Previously, as reported by Tuoi Tre Online , at house number 47, Dia village, Binh Minh commune, Thanh Oai district, Hanoi - there was an establishment with an advertising sign claiming it could cure all diseases simply by drinking alkaline ionized water.

According to the sign hanging in front of the house, this establishment treats sinusitis (guaranteed cure) and treats acid reflux, colitis, gout, diabetes, bone and joint problems, and various types of tumors using water therapy (free of charge), and acupressure therapy (free of charge).

According to our investigation, this establishment belongs to Mr. Nguyen Tien Nam and was opened at his home.

When asked if laryngeal cancer was treatable, Mr. Nam didn't need to see the test results or meet the patient; he simply asked, "Have you taken Western medicine? Have you had chemotherapy? Are you still able to walk?"

And after hearing that she hadn't used any medication or chemotherapy, Mr. Nam immediately asserted: "Then she's saved! Go home and bring your family here."
