Speaking to NBC News before a rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, former President Trump confirmed that a decision had been made regarding his running mate.
"Yes, I have," Trump replied to the question of whether he had chosen a running mate yet.
When asked if the chosen candidate knew, the Republican presidential candidate replied, "No, nobody knows."
The process of selecting a running mate for Trump in the 2024 US election has accelerated in recent weeks, with several candidates receiving background checks from the Republican candidate's campaign.
Mr. Trump said he would likely announce his choice at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, next month.

Sources familiar with the matter told The Hill that the leading candidates for Trump's nomination are North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Senator JD Vance (Ohio), and Senator Marco Rubio (Florida).
Other individuals who have received the documents and are being considered include Senator Tim Scott (South Carolina), Senator Tom Cotton (Arkansas), Representative Elise Stefanik (New York), Representative Byron Donalds (Florida), and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson.
