On the morning of November 3, Colonel Tran Huu Ich, Commander of the Da Nang City Military Command, inspected the serious landslide situation at An Luong embankment (Duy Nghia commune) and Tan Thanh and An Bang beaches (Hoi An Dong ward). These are two areas that are being severely affected by heavy rain, high tides and rising waves after storm No. 12.
Faced with a complex combination of natural disasters with rain, floods, cold air and storm KALMAEGI, which is forecast to directly affect Da Nang City, there is a risk of "flood on flood", at An Luong embankment, many embankment sections have deep landslides stretching hundreds of meters, the embankment roof has collapsed, the foundation has been seriously eroded, directly threatening the safety of more than 500 households living in the area.

After listening to the report and directly inspecting the scene, Colonel Tran Huu Ich requested the Defense Command of Area 5 - Dien Ban, agencies and units under the City Military Command to closely coordinate with Division 315 (Military Region 5) and the local authorities and forces to urgently mobilize human resources, materials, and means to reinforce the eroded embankment sections, determined not to let the An Luong embankment break, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.

The Commander of the City Military Command also directed the immediate establishment of the City Military Command's forward command post at the scene, assigning the Deputy Chief of Staff of the City Military Command to be in charge. Directed the forces to maintain a duty regime, closely monitor the situation 24/7, and promptly handle any unusual developments.

Colonel Tran Huu Ich and his working group used a flycam to comprehensively survey the current state of landslides on the coast of Hoi An Dong ward.
In the Tan Thanh - An Bang coastal area (Hoi An Dong ward), where the waves penetrated dozens of meters into the mainland, causing many road sections to collapse and threatening coastal residential areas, Colonel Tran Huu Ich and his team used drones (flycams) to comprehensively survey the current state of landslides.
After the inspection, Colonel Tran Huu Ich requested to immediately increase the force of Regiment 971, the City Military Command and Division 315 of Military Region 5, coordinate with the City Department of Agriculture and Environment and local authorities to urgently mobilize human and material resources to overcome and prevent landslides in the immediate future, and at the same time propose a plan to build long-term embankments and breakwaters along with strengthening measures to protect works, residential areas and coastal tourism facilities.
