On June 14th, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the cutoff scores for the talent-based admission method, covering approximately 20% of its 2024 enrollment quota.

The Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IT-E10) major has the highest cutoff score of 104.58 points out of a maximum of 110 points.

According to the Admissions and Career Guidance Board of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, this year, 5,791 candidates registered for the talent-based admission method. Of these, 295 candidates were admitted under category 1.1, direct admission for excellent students as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training. 928 candidates were admitted under category 1.2, admission based on international certificates such as SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, and IB. 4,568 candidates were admitted under category 1.3, admission based on a combination of application profiles and interviews. This is the most popular method chosen by candidates applying for talent-based admission, accounting for 79% of the total number of candidates participating in this method.

For category 1.2, applicants must achieve a score of 1630/1680 using a combination of SAT scores and language proficiency certificates, and a SAT Math score of 750/800 to be admitted to the Computer Science (IT1) and Advanced Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IT-E10).

The top 5 majors with the highest admission scores for the 1.3 admission category are: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IT-E10) with the highest score of 104.58/110 points (an increase of 6.16 points compared to 2023); Computer Science (IT1) 103.89/110 points (an increase of 13.72 points); Global ICT Information Technology (IT-E7) 102.67/110 points (an increase of 20.67 points); Cyber Security (IT-E15) 102.6/110 points (an increase of 20.56 points); and Computer Engineering (IT2) 98.3/110 points (an increase of 12.95 points). In 2023, these 5 majors also had the highest admission scores for the talent-based program.

In particular, 2024 saw the emergence of several new majors with high admission scores (90+), reflecting the trend of future job demand, including the Microchip and Semiconductor group (MS2); the Health Science and Technology group (ET2, ET-E5, CH-E11); and the Logistics and Business Analytics group (EM-E13, EM-E14).

Most admission scores have increased compared to 2023. This increase is explained by the fact that the number of applications for talent-based programs in 2024 has nearly doubled compared to last year. Intense competition was evident from the start, with many high-achieving candidates applying. Furthermore, these are also fields with high demand for human resources in the current era, attracting considerable interest from applicants.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology notes that this is the result of early admission through the talent-based selection method (meeting the university's requirements). Candidates must still register their university admission preferences for 2024 on the Ministry of Education and Training's common virtual filtering system from July 18-30.

Candidates will be officially admitted and enroll in Hanoi University of Science and Technology after graduating from high school and listing this early admission result as their first choice when registering on the common virtual filtering system.

In 2024, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will recruit 9,260 students through three methods: talent-based admission (approximately 20%); admission based on the results of a thinking skills assessment test (approximately 30%); and admission based on the 2024 high school graduation exam scores (approximately 50%).

The results of the talent selection process for each candidate can be viewed in the "Lookup" section of their registered account at: http://tsa.hust.edu.vn/xttn.
