The 6th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of Phu Tho province, term 2024-2029, concluded successfully.

On the afternoon of August 2nd, the Vietnam Youth Union of Phu Tho province solemnly held the 6th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Youth Union of Phu Tho province, for the term 2024-2029.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phung Khanh Tai presented the Congress with flowers and a banner from the Provincial Party Committee bearing the inscription "Vietnam Youth Union of Phu Tho Province - Unity - Creativity - Aspiration - Development".

Attending and directing the Congress were Comrade Phung Khanh Tai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; leaders of departments, agencies, mass organizations, districts, cities, and towns. Representing the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union were Comrades Ngo Van Cuong - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Committee's Inspection Commission ; and Nguyen Kim Quy - Head of the Youth Solidarity and Mobilization Department of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, and Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union.

With the action slogan "Youth of the Ancestral Land: Unity - Creativity - Aspiration - Development," this is a major political event, a grand festival for the youth of the entire province, aimed at evaluating the results of various aspects of work during the 2019-2024 term and deciding on important issues of the Youth Union's work and youth movement for the next five years.

During the past term, with the courageous, proactive, and volunteer spirit of the youth, the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement in the province has achieved many important results, contributing to the comprehensive achievements of the province. The work of building and strengthening the Vietnam Youth Union continues to develop both in scale and quality. The methods and forms of implementation by the Union at all levels are increasingly diverse, and the content is gradually becoming more aligned with the needs and aspirations of young people and the practical situation at the grassroots level.

During the 2019-2024 term, all 8/8 targets were met or exceeded. The "I Love My Homeland" movement was widely implemented, with 5,916 youth projects built and inaugurated throughout the province. The province established 51 volunteer teams, built and donated 42 charitable houses and "Red Scarf" houses to students and families in difficult circumstances, and conducted 1,250 activities expressing gratitude and remembrance of those who sacrificed. Youth associations at all levels provided career guidance to 85,332 members, helped 6,015 young people find employment, and supported 34 youth startup projects with a total capital of over 3 billion VND.

In their guiding remarks at the Congress, Comrade Phung Khanh Tai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Comrade Nguyen Kim Quy, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union, highly appreciated the results achieved by the provincial Youth Union branches at all levels during the past term.

To further unleash the strength and potential of the youth of Phu Tho province in socio-economic development and national defense, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee suggested that all levels of the Youth Union should pay attention to doing a good job of propaganda and education, innovating methods of youth education, and continuing to effectively implement the "study and follow the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh".

Strengthening unity and broadly gathering all strata of youth, ensuring high unity in thought and action; promoting the effective and practical launching and organization of patriotic emulation movements initiated by the Central Government and the province among all strata of youth; further strengthening activities to accompany, care for, and support youth; motivating and encouraging youth to actively study, conduct scientific research, improve their skills and expertise...

To build a strong provincial Youth Union organization in terms of politics, ideology, and organization, truly making it the broadest social organization of young people; to improve the quality of organization and activities of grassroots Youth Union branches, and to diversify appropriate forms and types to attract and gather a wide range of young people to participate.

Overview of the Congress.

Youth organizations at all levels need to constantly strive to improve and innovate the content and methods of their activities to meet the demands of the revolutionary tasks and the legitimate interests of young people. Emphasis should be placed on building and training a team of cadres at the grassroots level, especially at the branch, team, group, and club levels, according to each type of activity. This will build a team of dedicated, capable, knowledgeable, and skilled cadres with the ability to organize and mobilize young people.

On this occasion, Comrade Phung Khanh Tai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, presented the Congress with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a banner from the Provincial Party Committee bearing the inscription "Vietnam Youth Union of Phu Tho Province - Unity - Creativity - Aspiration - Development".

The Congress introduced the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, term VI, 2024-2029, consisting of 43 members; Mr. Bui Duc Giang was re-elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Phu Tho province for term VI; and 13 members were selected through consultation to attend the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024-2029.

At the Congress, 2 collectives and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of the Youth Union and youth movements during the 2019-2024 term were honored with Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union; 3 collectives and 1 outstanding individual received Certificates of Merit from the People's Committee of Phu Tho province.
