Focus production efforts and strengthen linkages.

At this time, production areas in Hanoi are focusing their efforts on preparing for the year-end market. In districts such as Thuong Tin, Thanh Oai, Dong Anh, Soc Son, and Me Linh, many farms and cooperatives are stepping up the care of crops and livestock to be ready for the year-end market.

According to the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, with nearly 10 million permanent residents and millions of tourists each year, Hanoi is one of the three largest consumers of agricultural products and food in the country. However, the production of some agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products in the city only meets 20-70% of the people's needs (depending on the type).
The remaining quantity must be imported by Hanoi from various provinces, cities, and foreign countries. Given the year-end market conditions, where consumption may increase by 20-30%, Hanoi is proactively building its agricultural supply chain to ensure sufficient production and balance supply, preventing localized shortages or surpluses.

Specifically, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nguyen Dinh Hoa, stated that based on weather developments, Hanoi proactively develops production scenarios. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development promptly issues documents assigning local officials to closely coordinate with local authorities in disseminating information and providing technical guidance on caring for main crop crops; strengthening the investigation, detection, estimation, and forecasting of pest and disease situations; and providing timely and effective guidance on pest and disease control.

In addition to proactively producing its own produce, Hanoi collaborates with other provinces and cities to supply safe agricultural products to the capital's market, meeting consumer demand during the year-end period and ensuring product diversity and food quality.

According to Nguyen Xuan Dai, Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the city has directed its departments and agencies to implement numerous solutions to develop production and connect the supply of safe, high-quality agricultural products from other provinces and cities to serve consumers in Hanoi and tourists. To date, Hanoi has signed cooperation agreements with 43 provinces and cities, developing 946 production-consumption-promotional chains for agricultural products and regional specialties; and supporting the circulation of goods...

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development regularly coordinates with relevant departments, districts, and towns to update regulations and requirements for quality control of food safety in safe agricultural, forestry, and aquatic product production and consumption chains, combined with strict management of product traceability...

Goods are ready to supply the Tet holiday.

To date, many agricultural supply chains have proactively linked up to bring goods to the Hanoi market. Nguyen Tien Hung, Director of BigGreen Vietnam Clean Food Co., Ltd., said that BigGreen has dozens of clean food stores in Hanoi with approximately 1,000 types of products sold daily. To secure supplies for the end of the year, BigGreen has signed consumption contracts with dozens of production facilities.

"Towards the end of the year, the demand for food will certainly increase sharply, so the store proactively signs contracts to import many specialty and OCOP products to supply the people of Hanoi," said Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung.

Not only businesses and cooperatives, but also the industry, trade, and agriculture sectors of Hanoi have proactively signed agreements and organized many fairs and booths to introduce agricultural products from various provinces and cities to the people of the capital.
For the upcoming Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake), the goods requiring supply-demand balance include: rice, pork, chicken, duck, poultry eggs, processed foods, vegetables, sugar, cooking oil, and spices. The Hanoi People's Committee has assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to take the lead in gathering information, organizing, and coordinating the supply of goods from various units when the market fluctuates, ensuring sufficient supply to meet consumer demand.

Regarding the agricultural sector, the Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nguyen Xuan Dai, stated that the production plan had been developed early on and would be adjusted accordingly depending on the actual situation. For agricultural products, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in coordination with the Department of Industry and Trade and local authorities, is forecasting demand and developing plans for linkages and supply to meet the needs during the Tet holiday.

The agricultural sector is also coordinating with other sectors and functional units to strengthen surveys of supply sources from retail chains in Hanoi. The entire city currently has 70,779 food production, processing, and trading establishments, 453 markets, 137 supermarkets, 29 shopping malls, 2,000 convenience stores, 34 e-commerce platforms, multi-media sales channels, and tens of thousands of grocery stores...

"With proactive production and proactive linkages in building supply chains, especially those linked with other provinces and cities, Hanoi will ensure a supply of high-quality agricultural products to serve the people of the capital city this Tet holiday," affirmed Nguyen Xuan Dai, Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
