As one of the households receiving compensation and resettlement support for the East Hoan Kiem Lake Square and Park project, Mr. Ng.VH (Ly Thai To Street) shared that during the meeting, the local authorities coordinated with the bank to review the documents, check the plan, and make the payment on the same day.
“All procedures were quick and efficient, and the officials provided detailed and clear instructions. The entire process, from counting and measuring to developing the compensation plan, was transparent,” Mr. H. said.

Mr. H. said he would use the compensation money for land clearance to build a house in the Dong Hoi resettlement area (Dong Anh commune), creating a stable place to live for his children and grandchildren in the future.
"We are citizens, and we always support the city's policies. A few minor issues were promptly resolved by the project staff, so the work process went smoothly," Mr. H added.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Tr.V.Tr. (Ly Thai To Street) said that his family also received support under the compensation and resettlement policy of the project. Mr. Tr. expressed his agreement with the policy of expanding the area east of Hoan Kiem Lake, contributing to urban beautification and creating public spaces for the people of Hanoi.
“We have lived here for generations, and relocating is a bit regrettable. However, the compensation is reasonable and ensures our rights, so our family fully supports it. The project management team regularly meets with us, explains the policies, and helps us understand and feel more secure,” Mr. Tr. shared.

Mr. TVT (residing on Ly Thai To Street) stated that he supports the government's policy of land clearance for the project. According to the policy, Mr. T.'s family will receive compensation, financial assistance, and resettlement land to stabilize their lives.
"I agree with the compensation price offered by the ward. Therefore, I came today to receive the financial assistance to help stabilize my life. Over the past period, I and other households have received attention from Hoan Kiem ward, which has answered all our questions, thereby creating a high level of consensus when carrying out related procedures," Mr. T. said.
The project to build the East Hoan Kiem Lake Park Square, invested by the Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee ( Hanoi City), covers an area of approximately 2.14 hectares and is divided into two phases. Phase 1 focuses on constructing the above-ground parts of the square and park using public investment funds. Phase 2 involves constructing three underground levels beneath the square, connecting to station C9 of metro line 2, Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao.

The area designated for renovation east of Hoan Kiem Lake currently has 47 land users, including 12 organizations and agencies and 35 households. This area contains several valuable buildings, including the headquarters of the Institute of Literature (Group 2 villas); Hanoi Electricity Company (Group 3 villas); and the Department of Culture and Sports (a valuable architectural structure…).
According to the Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee, given the importance and progress requirements of the project, and to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of organizations, households, and individuals whose land is being acquired, the Hanoi City People's Committee has agreed on a number of specific policies and guidelines for compensation and resettlement support for the project.
In addition to prioritizing land allocation during compensation processes, Hoan Kiem ward also provides resettlement with residential land in Dong Anh commune and Viet Hung ward for eligible households and individuals. Simultaneously, the City People's Committee has allocated resettlement housing in Viet Hung ward, giving residents more options for resettlement in the form of apartments.
Earlier, on the morning of October 22nd, the Hoan Kiem Ward Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board invited residents subject to compensation, support, resettlement, and land clearance for the construction project of the East Hoan Kiem Lake Park Square to inspect the land and housing funds for resettlement in Viet Hung Ward and Dong Anh Commune.
By December 8th, 13 households eligible for compensation, support, and resettlement for the land clearance project of the East Ho Guom Park Square had received the first installment of support payments.
