This afternoon, April 24th, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ha Sy Dong, chaired a working session with the Provincial Farmers' Association to evaluate the results of the coordination regulations between the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Farmers' Association in 2023 and to plan activities for 2024. Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association , Dinh Khac Dinh, also attended.

In accordance with the Coordination Regulations between the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Farmers' Association, in 2023, the Provincial People's Committee facilitated the Provincial Farmers' Association in effectively implementing many association activities and farmers' movements.

Accordingly, the Provincial Farmers' Association has actively reformed the content and methods of leadership and guidance; propagated and mobilized nearly 27,000 farming households to register for the title of excellent farmer in production and business at all levels; directed the construction and development of the Farmers' Support Fund with a growth rate of over 1.9 billion VND in 2023, while maintaining the program of coordination with the banking system to support farmers in borrowing capital; organized 96 vocational training classes with 2,889 participants; provided advice and job support for 1,102 rural laborers; and built 110 models of farmers' associations participating in environmental protection...

The Provincial Farmers' Association has also proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee on leadership and direction of activities related to agriculture , farmers, and new rural development. The role of the association is increasingly affirmed, especially in contributing to the implementation of mechanisms and policies related to farmers.

In 2024, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Farmers' Association identified key tasks requiring coordination, including: Continuing to concretize the implementation of the Party's viewpoints and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and the Central Farmers' Association's policies on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas; coordinating the organization and effective implementation of patriotic emulation movements and campaigns; promoting activities such as consulting, vocational training, support services for farmers, training in the transfer of scientific and technical knowledge, consulting on brand and trademark development, and product traceability.

Coordinate closely and effectively in receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations related to farmers in accordance with Decision No. 81/2014/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister; innovate and improve the effectiveness of social supervision and criticism activities of farmers' associations at all levels, focusing on monitoring the implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas...

During the meeting, representatives from the Provincial Farmers' Association and relevant departments and agencies exchanged views, discussed, and proposed that the Provincial People's Committee provide support to resolve some difficulties and obstacles related to supporting farmers in starting innovative businesses, digital transformation, and developing linkage and cooperation models along the value chain; gave opinions on organizing a rally to respond to the Vietnam Sea and Islands Week, World Environment Day (June 5th), World Ocean Day (June 7th) in 2024, and launching the construction of models for farmers to protect the environment and respond to climate change in the period 2024-2030; and organizing a conference where the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee dialogues with farmers in 2024...

Concluding the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ha Sy Dong, requested that in addition to the eight key tasks identified in the 2024 coordination regulations, the Farmers' Association at all levels should further promote the dissemination and promotion of new policies and laws of the province and the central government to all members and farmers; and at the same time, review and reassess indicators related to agriculture, farmers, and rural areas in order to strive to complete the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025, and the socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2025.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also agreed with the proposal to organize a rally to commemorate Vietnam's Sea and Islands Week, World Environment Day (June 5th), and World Ocean Day (June 7th) on June 3rd, 2024 in Vinh Linh district; and requested relevant departments, agencies, and localities to continue advising the Provincial People's Committee and coordinating with the Provincial Farmers' Association to implement activities that are practical and highly effective.
