This is one of the main activities within the framework of the 2024 International Ginseng, Spices and Medicinal Herbs Festival, held for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City.
The program is organized to honor the chef profession in the tourism industry, creating opportunities for exchange, learning and sharing experiences between chefs at participating restaurants and hotel restaurants.
The program is jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Culinary Association, Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd., Samoza Kontum National Ginseng Co., Ltd., Khanh Han Investment Co., Ltd. and Long Phuong Group.
The international exchange program of delicious dishes with ingredients from ginseng and spices attracted 30 teams, each team has 2 members. These are artisans, professional chefs of restaurants and hotels from all regions of Vietnam and abroad with many years of experience in cooking.
Mr. Rodrigo Martinez, executive chef of the Intercontinental Saigon Hotel, representative of the program's jury, said that products made from ginseng and precious spices have become popular in Asia, including Vietnam.
"Using ginseng in cooking will bring many interesting things to creative chefs as well as bring diners dishes with a special ginseng flavor," Mr. Rodrigo Martinez shared.
Many nutritious dishes made from ginseng were displayed by chefs during the exchange.
Mr. Clemens Tan, General Director of Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd., said that this program helps promote Vietnam's diverse and unique cuisine , thereby increasing the promotion of ginseng, spices and medicinal products of Vietnam and other countries at the festival.
The International Ginseng, Spices and Medicinal Herbs Festival will take place from May 24 to 26 on Le Loi Street. During the program, 160 businesses will display products, ginseng, spices and medicinal herbs experience models, and 40 culinary experience booths to serve the people.
