What are the barriers to Bu Dang (Binh Phuoc) becoming an attractive destination?

Báo điện tử VOVBáo điện tử VOV08/11/2024

There are still many bottlenecks

Bu Dang District, Binh Phuoc Province has a favorable geographical location bordering Dak Nong, Dong Nai, Lam Dong provinces and possesses great tourism potential. This place is famous for its scenic spots such as Standing Waterfall, Voi Waterfall and Soc Bom Bo tourist area, which preserves the unique culture of the Stieng ethnic group. In particular, Bu Dang is one of the gong cultural centers of the Central Highlands, recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

With 34 ethnic groups living together, Bu Dang possesses a diverse and unique cultural treasure. Traditional festivals, handicrafts, and local cuisine create attractive tourist experiences.

However, to develop sustainable tourism, Bu Dang still has some limitations such as lack of entertainment, dining and resting places. The transportation system also needs to be invested in and upgraded to facilitate tourists' travel.

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, Director of New Star Media Tourism Company said: "I also suggest that local authorities pay attention to facilities such as restaurants, hotels, and roads leading to tourist attractions. They can be expanded or have signs so that visitors from far away know how far away the destination is. This will create good conditions for sightseeing, relaxation, and exploration of historical sites and scenic spots in Bu Dang."

Many experts believe that Bu Dang has potential tourism products and can completely develop community tourism and cultural tourism models. Therefore, creating favorable conditions for individuals and businesses to invest in the tourism sector is extremely necessary. Instead of being too dependent on the state budget, the locality should take advantage of the opportunity to attract resources from the private sector, in order to exploit the tourism potential to the fullest. If this is delayed, Bu Dang will miss the golden opportunity to develop the economy and create jobs from the tourism industry.

Master Pham Huu Hien, lecturer at Binh Duong University, said that the community tourism model not only saves costs but also brings high economic efficiency, while contributing to preserving indigenous culture. This is a sustainable tourism development trend that has been successfully applied by many countries in the world. With the X'Tieng and M'Nong ethnic communities and rich intangible and tangible cultural heritages, Bu Dang has full potential to develop this type of tourism.

"We have to refine the product to serve tourists, so that they can understand, experience the heritage, and buy the product to meet their needs. Only then will it be successful. Choose 5 or 7 households near tourist attractions to combine community tourism so that tourists have the opportunity to experience and make the most of their time when they come here," said Mr. Hien.

Will find every solution to develop tourism

State management agencies believe that in order to develop tourism sustainably, Bu Dang needs to add tourist areas and destinations to the local planning in accordance with regulations. This will create a solid legal basis to attract investment and develop tourism. At the same time, raising awareness and changing people's thinking about tourism is also an important factor.

The leaders of the People's Committee of Bu Dang district admitted that there are still many difficulties and limitations in the process of tourism development. The current mechanisms and policies still have many shortcomings, affecting investment attraction. To overcome this situation, the locality is actively calling for the participation of organizations, individuals and businesses, while promoting socialized investment in tourism infrastructure. The completion of the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway will create a big boost for the development of Bu Dang tourism industry.

Mr. Vu Van Muoi, Chairman of Bu Dang District People's Committee, said that despite many difficulties, the locality will make efforts to develop tourism in the coming time. Especially developing community tourism and preserving national cultural identity.

"We will focus on and mobilize people about tourism, how to do tourism and learn from other localities to develop community tourism. We will advise the Provincial People's Committee to attract investors in the fields of restaurants, hotels and tourism in general."

On this occasion, the District People's Committee launched and announced a tour connecting Bu Dang with other tourist destinations.

The festival "The sound of pestles echoing forever on Bom Bo village" is expected to take place from now until November 10 with unique cultural and artistic activities.
