Strengthening propaganda work, concretizing the contents of Resolution of the 8th Central Conference

On the afternoon of December 4, the national online and in-person conference to study and disseminate the Resolution of the 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee, organized by the Politburo and the Central Party Secretariat, continued to take place with many important contents.

Attending the conference at the Central bridge point were Standing member of the Secretariat - Head of the Central Organization Committee Truong Thi Mai and former leaders of the Party and State; members of the Politburo and members of the Central Executive Committee of the Party.

The conference was connected to 16,242 points nationwide with more than 1,441,200 cadres and party members participating in studying, researching and implementing the resolution.

In Ha Tinh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran The Dung, members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, members of the Provincial Party Committee and representatives of departments, branches and sectors attended at the Provincial People's Committee bridge. The conference was connected to 442 district and commune-level bridges with the participation of 46,989 delegates across the province.

Opening the conference program on the afternoon of December 4, delegates listened to Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang deliver a presentation on the topic: "Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation".

Next, the delegates listened to the Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia deliver a presentation on the topic: "Continuing to build a team of intellectuals to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable national development in the new period and guidance on implementing Resolution 8 of the 13th Central Committee".

The topic clearly states the goal by 2030 to develop the intellectual team in terms of quantity and quality, especially the team of leading experts and scientists in key, important and new fields to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization of the country. Perfecting mechanisms and policies to ensure feasibility, synchronization, creating opportunities, conditions and motivation for the intellectual team to develop comprehensively, improve capacity, qualifications and contribute to the country.

The conference is held in a combination of live and online formats nationwide.

Prioritize ensuring resources for investment in science and technology development, especially high technology, core technology, source technology, and cutting-edge technology; pay attention to investing in basic research and applied research in areas where Vietnam has strengths, social sciences and humanities, political theory, management, education and training, healthcare, culture, literature, and arts.

Develop a number of research and higher education institutions to reach advanced levels, among the top in Asia; in which, Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University are ranked in the top 500 universities in the world. Increase the number of inventions, patents, scientific works in the regional and world rankings; top scientific and technological products, literary and artistic works; works published in prestigious domestic and international journals. Improve the quality of Vietnamese scientific journals to reach regional and international levels.

By 2045, Vietnam's intellectual community will be strong, of high quality, with a reasonable structure, among the top in the region and approaching that of developed countries; many scientists will be influential in the world, winning international awards in various fields; many scientific and technological organizations, educational and training institutions will meet international standards to meet the requirements of a developed country.

Key tasks include: continuing to raise awareness of the position, role and importance of intellectuals; innovating the training, fostering, use, treatment and honoring of intellectuals, and valuing talents; strengthening state management, perfecting the legal system, mechanisms and policies for intellectuals; increasing resources to build an intellectual team that is proactive and actively integrates internationally; promoting the role and responsibility of intellectuals; innovating the content and methods of operation of intellectual associations.

Concluding the conference, Standing member of the Secretariat - Head of the Central Organizing Committee Truong Thi Mai emphasized that after a day of the conference, the basic contents of the Resolution of the 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee had been seriously disseminated. This is an opportunity for Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations at all levels and cadres and party members nationwide to grasp the core contents of the resolutions. From there, develop plans and action programs to implement specific and practical resolutions for each agency, unit and locality.

The Standing Secretariat - Head of the Central Organization Committee requested Party committees and authorities at all levels to continue studying and thoroughly grasping the core contents of the Resolution of the 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee in various appropriate forms. Strengthening the inspection and supervision of the implementation of the Resolution of the 8th Conference and other resolutions issued by the 13th Party Central Committee. Continuing to promote propaganda work, concretizing the contents of the resolution into specific projects and action programs, contributing to bringing the resolutions into life.
