
On December 3, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung inspected the construction progress of Component Project 1, part of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project Phase 1.
Component 1 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway (phase 1) has a total length of over 57km. Of which, the section passing through An Giang province is over 56.4km long. The project has a total investment of over 13,500 billion VND. The entire route will have 5 intersections, 33 bridges; an intelligent transportation system (ITS), a non-stop toll collection system and a rest stop at km22+300...
According to the An Giang Provincial Project Management Board, the total construction output of the project reached 66.47% (exceeding about 0.09% of the contract value), equivalent to the actual output value of about 5,577 billion VND. Currently, contractors are urgently paving asphalt, striving to complete about 25km of asphalt concrete road surface by December 19, 2025; the 32.014km section strives to complete the crushed stone pavement to open the route to traffic.

After a field survey, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung emphasized that this is the final stage. Therefore, contractors need to continue to urgently arrange "3 shifts, 4 crews", work with the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain"; increase equipment, machinery and human resources to ensure progress according to plan.
Regarding the difficulties of investors, mainly regarding sand resources, the Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province requested the Office of the Provincial People's Committee to coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for opinions so that contractors can take over the Tan My mine.
Regarding the disbursement of public investment capital, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested contractors to complete the documents and procedures in accordance with regulations; any completed documents must be immediately disbursed by the Provincial Project Management Board. The Provincial Project Management Board regularly inspects and urges contractors to speed up project implementation and capital disbursement.
For intersections and smart management stations, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Project Management Board to coordinate with the Department of Construction to urgently complete the items according to the set plan; coordinate with contractors to carefully prepare for the traffic opening ceremony, scheduled to be held on February 19, 2026.
