Textiles and garments take full advantage of opportunities to accelerate exports

The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that textile and garment export turnover reached 3.19 billion USD in the first month of the year, up 1.8% over the same period last year.

In the context of escalating global trade tensions, textile and garment enterprises also said that they have prepared scenarios to respond. Priority is given to expanding the market and diversifying the supply chain by participating in international textile and garment organizations and trade promotion fairs to seek orders and find alternative sources of raw materials.

In its role as a trade promotion organizer, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said it will support businesses to participate more deeply in the global supply chain to respond to market fluctuations.

Ms. Phan Thi Thang - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade said: "Enterprises need to approach trends in applying science and technology, approaching stages and higher stages and chains of textile and garment. We do not only focus on processing but also focus on design and materials to gradually become more proactive in the coming time".

The Ministry of Industry and Trade will work closely with businesses on compliance with regulations on origin, supply chain traceability, green transformation, etc. to take advantage of export opportunities.
