On the morning of August 23, Ms. Le Thi To Hoai - Head of the Management Board of the Hien Luong - Ben Hai Special National Monument ( Quang Tri ) - said that this monument will temporarily stop receiving visitors from August 23.

The suspension is until further notice, expected to last until the end of 2025.

According to Ms. Hoai, the suspension is to ensure safety for tourists and create favorable conditions for the construction unit.

"Currently, the relic site is undergoing restoration and the construction is messy, making it difficult to meet the needs and ensure the safety of visitors. Although it is temporarily closed, if visitors want to visit, the management board will still welcome them for free," said Ms. Hoai.

At the relic site, the exhibition house and some outside items are still operating, but main attractions such as Hien Luong Bridge, flagpole, etc. are under construction.

This relic is implementing a project to restore Thong Nhat Park with a total investment of 80 billion VND, using central budget capital.

Landscape renovation, fence painting, internal road system completion and other auxiliary items. Dismantle the existing management house to build a new prefabricated house, repair and renovate the reception house and restrooms.

In the first 7 months of 2025, the relic site welcomed about 50,000 ticket-buying visitors and 10,000 ticket-free visitors.
