One of the station’s key tasks is to manage chronic patients. The entire commune currently has 275 cases being monitored, mainly hypertension, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Medical staff measure blood pressure and blood sugar, advise on medication use and remind patients of monthly follow-up appointments. Thanks to this, many patients can control their health well right in their locality.

Coming for a routine health check, Mr. Lo Van Doi, Co Chia village, a patient with high blood pressure, shared: I came to have my blood pressure measured, my indexes checked again, the doctors and nurses welcomed me very enthusiastically, explained clearly, told me how to eat and exercise to keep my blood pressure stable, I feel much more secure, and my disease is also better controlled.

Maternal and child health care has seen many positive changes. During the year, 62 women were instructed on pregnancy care; the rate of children receiving all 8 vaccines reached 82.3%. The station also organized expanded vaccination campaigns and mobile medical examinations in remote villages.

The role of the village health network continues to be promoted. Currently, 20/22 villages in the commune are equipped with medical kits, providing first aid for cases of high fever, flu, and minor injuries. Village health workers are trained in blood pressure measurement skills, coordinating chronic disease management, and supporting vaccination. Ms. Tran Thi Cai, a health worker in Chieng Hung village, said: We always keep a close eye on the situation of each household. When someone is sick or injured, we provide first aid first and then immediately report to the station. Thanks to that, many cases are handled promptly.

Currently, it is the season change, increasing the risk of outbreaks of infectious diseases through the digestive and respiratory tracts in the community and schools. Yen Son Commune Health Station has stepped up propaganda to encourage people to limit contact with sick people, eat hygienically, ensure nutrition, keep the body warm, and maintain environmental and personal hygiene, especially for young children and people with chronic diseases...

Continuing to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people, Yen Son Commune Health Station focuses on professional training for staff, proactively grasps the situation at the grassroots level, effectively exploits equipment and promotes the combination of Eastern and Western medicine in medical examination and treatment...
