Dien Bien ranks 2nd among 7 northern mountainous provinces in terms of the number of national excellent students.

On August 27, the Department of Education and Training of Dien Bien province held a conference to summarize the 2024-2025 school year and deploy key tasks for the 2025-2026 school year. Attending the conference were: Mr. Tran Quoc Cuong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Pham Duc Toan - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province.

By the end of the school year, the province had 485 schools and centers, with 7,341 classes and more than 207,000 students, exceeding the plan assigned by the Provincial People's Committee. The team of more than 16,100 cadres, teachers and staff continued to be trained and improved in capacity, gradually meeting the requirements of the new general education program.

Authorized by the President , Mr. Pham Duc Toan - Permanent Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee awarded the Third Class Labor Medal to individuals with outstanding achievements.

The quality of education continues to improve. The rate of mobilizing 3-5 year old children to go to school is nearly 100%, maintaining universal preschool education for 5 year old children and universal primary and secondary education level 3. The high school graduation rate in 2025 is 99.82%, with 118 exams scoring 10 points. The achievements of national excellent students have made a breakthrough, bringing Dien Bien to 2nd place in terms of quality of awards in the emulation cluster of 7 northern mountainous provinces.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Duc Toan praised the achievements of the education and training sector, and acknowledged the attention and responsible and effective coordination of the provincial departments, agencies, unions and Party committees and authorities at all levels.

Entering the 2025-2026 school year, the Dien Bien Education and Training sector aims to continue to innovate and improve overall quality, focusing on perfecting a streamlined and efficient apparatus; advising on the establishment of a branch of Thai Nguyen University and a number of non-public training institutions to expand higher education opportunities for students.

Ms. Hoang Tuyet Ban - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dien Bien affirmed: "The whole sector will promote the achieved results, overcome limitations, and be proactive and creative in direction and management. With the support of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups, the Dien Bien Education sector is determined to successfully complete the tasks of the new school year."

Collectives with outstanding achievements in the 2024-2025 school year received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training.

On this occasion, 1 collective and 8 individuals were awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President; 42 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister; 1 collective was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee; 12 individuals were awarded the Commemorative Medal "For the cause of building and developing Dien Bien province"; 6 collectives were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training in the 2024-2025 school year.
