The police force in general, and the riot police in particular, have played a crucial role in implementing armed measures to protect national security and maintain social order and safety.
However, given the increasing brazenness and complexity of crime, as well as the recent riots and resistance against law enforcement, the Mobile Police force needs further improvement to ensure consistency and uniformity with the process of building a revolutionary, professional, elite, and progressively modern People's Police force, meeting the demands of the new situation.
In response to this situation, the Ministry of Public Security and the Mobile Police Command studied and established the Mounted Mobile Police Unit to gradually enhance the capabilities and combat strength of the Mobile Police force.
On May 12, 2020, the Minister of Public Security issued a Decision approving the Project to establish the Mounted Police Force under the Mobile Police Command.
On the morning of June 8, 2020, at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi , the Mounted Police Mobile Unit held a parade and officially launched itself.

Also on the evening of March 10th, at Ho Chi Minh Square in Vinh City, an art program titled "The Enduring Teachings of Uncle Ho" will take place, featuring songs praising the glorious Party, the beloved Uncle Ho, and the police force, performed by the People's Police Music and Dance Troupe.
These activities are part of a series of events commemorating the 76th anniversary of the People's Public Security studying and implementing the Six Teachings of President Ho Chi Minh (March 11, 1948 - March 11, 2024) and the awarding of the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the Nghe An Provincial Public Security Department.
On February 7, 2024, President Vo Van Thuong signed Decision No. 158/QD-CTN awarding the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to two units, including the Nghe An Provincial Police, for their exceptionally outstanding achievements in protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety, and contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
This is a prestigious title, recognizing and honoring the contributions and sacrifices of the Nghe An Provincial Police force throughout its 79-year history of development, combat, and growth.
With the approval of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, the Nghe An Provincial Police will hold a ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces on the morning of March 11, 2024.
