Nhon Trach 3&4 Power Plant located in Phuoc Khanh Commune, Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province is a national key project, invested by PV Power, with a total investment of 1.4 billion USD, capacity of 1,624 MW. This is the first LNG-fueled power plant project in Vietnam, with modern technology (gas turbine) provided by GE (USA) with the highest capacity and efficiency today; when officially generating commercial electricity, the project will add more than 9 billion kWh of commercial electricity/year to the power system, ensuring national energy security and socio-economic development of the country, bringing in revenue of 17 to 18 trillion VND/year for Dong Nai province. It is expected that Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant will officially generate commercial electricity in November 2024 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant in May 2025.

PV Power leaders said that since the project was approved in principle, PV Power has actively implemented investment steps. Currently, the general contractors Samsung C&T and Lilama are carrying out the final stages of the construction and installation process and are conducting trial runs; PV Power has completed capital arrangement. Recently, PV Power and EVNEPTC Power Trading Company (a unit authorized by Vietnam Electricity Group) successfully signed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for Nhon Trach 3&4 Power Plant, completing the connection agreement with the National Power Transmission Corporation, marking an important milestone and condition for Nhon Trach 3&4 Power Plant to go into commercial operation; creating the premise and orientation for negotiating PPAs for other LNG-fueled power projects in the Power Plan VIII approved by the Prime Minister.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee informed the leaders of PV Power about the progress of the implementation of the Ca Na LNG Power Center Project. Accordingly, the project has a total capacity of 6,000 MW, built in Phuoc Diem commune (Thuan Nam); in which, phase 1 has a capacity of 1,500 MW with a total investment of about 49,000 billion VND.

Currently, the Department of Industry and Trade is coordinating with the consulting unit to complete the bidding documents to select investors according to regulations. Emphasizing that the development of the LNG Ca Na project will be the next important factor to realize the goal of building Ninh Thuan into a national clean energy center and strongly developing the southern dynamic region of the province; he hopes that PV Power will continue to pay attention, support, and share information so that Ninh Thuan can soon complete the project as planned; at the same time, he requested PV Power leaders to speed up the process of completing investment procedures for the Lam Son clean power production complex (Ninh Son, Ninh Thuan) with an electricity output of 5.87 billion kWh/year invested by PV Power, expected to be deployed from 2026 and put into operation at the end of 2030.
