Flexible connection model from practice
In the picture of strong transformation of supporting industry, Dong Nai province is gradually affirming its role as a strategic destination for many Japanese enterprises. At the center of that cooperation network is the Dong Nai Province Supporting Industry Development Promotion Coordinator Group, a flexible, proactive connection model that is increasingly proving its effectiveness with concrete results.
Not only within the province, in recent times, the Coordinating Team has expanded the survey to neighboring localities, and worked directly with Japanese enterprises in industrial zones in Dong Nai. These surveys are not only to check the capacity of enterprises but also are strategic exploration steps to build trust, creating a foundation for long-term cooperation between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises.
During the recent survey, the Coordinating Team's working group worked directly with two enterprises in Thoi An ward, Ho Chi Minh City, namely Thinh Phat Precision Mechanical Co., Ltd. and Vietlabel Production and Trading Joint Stock Company.
At Thinh Phat Precision Mechanical Co., Ltd., the working group focused on reviewing data, evaluating the production process and identifying core difficulties. The survey results showed that Thinh Phat possesses the capacity to process micro-mechanical components from 0.5 to 32mm, meeting the strict standards of the Japanese precision industry.
According to the representative of Thinh Phat Precision Mechanical Co., Ltd., the enterprise always strives to improve according to Japanese standards, but with a small and medium scale, finding a stable output is a big challenge. The companionship of Dong Nai and promotion organizations is considered an "extended arm" to help the enterprise reach the right Japanese customers, partners who especially value stability and standards in production. The Coordinators assessed that Thinh Phat is one of the enterprises with the potential to quickly join the Japanese supply chain if connected in the right direction and with the right needs.

As for Vietlabel Trading and Production Joint Stock Company, this enterprise is preparing to expand its factory into an industrial park, aiming to export and access the Japanese market. What Vietlabel needs most at this time is advice on factory standards, processes and management according to Japanese standards. The Coordinator's survey helps the enterprise clearly see the points that need to be upgraded in order to integrate more deeply.
This reality shows that young Vietnamese businesses are making efforts to “standardize” to approach international standards. In this journey, the Coordinating Team is an important companion force, providing information, consulting, connecting, and opening the door for Vietnamese businesses to get closer to the Japanese market.
Promoting Vietnam-Japan cooperation bridge
In parallel with the survey in Ho Chi Minh City, the Coordinating Team also worked with a Japanese enterprise in Long Duc Industrial Park (Dong Nai province), Takashima Metal Precision Vietnam Co., Ltd., a unit specializing in the production of JIS standard screws, CNC machining, cold stamping, hot forging and metal parts.
During the survey, Mr. Yamamoto Ryo, Director of Takashima, said that the company is increasing the localization rate, hoping to find a Vietnamese supplier with enough capacity to reduce logistics costs, proactively source materials and speed up production progress. Checking 100% of products before leaving the factory forces the company to set very high requirements for its supply partners.
This working session also helped Dong Nai province better understand the practical difficulties of FDI enterprises, from the shortage of highly skilled labor to the cost of imported components, as a basis for building practical support solutions.
Not stopping at survey activities, Dong Nai is actively preparing for the Dong Nai - Ehime (a province of Japan) Trade Conference in January 2026.
In parallel with the local level, Dong Nai also made its mark with regional Japanese economic agencies, including the Kansai Economic, Trade and Industry Agency (METI Kansai).
Mr. Morishita Tsuyoshi, Deputy Director of METI Kansai, highly appreciated Dong Nai’s efforts in proactively and practically implementing supporting industry connection activities that meet the needs of Japanese enterprises. According to him, the province’s proactive survey of enterprises and listening to the needs of both Vietnam and Japan shows an approach that is in line with the expectations of Japanese investors.
Mr. Morishita Tsuyoshi said that Dong Nai is forming a replicable cooperation model by harmoniously combining the capacity of Vietnamese enterprises, the needs of Japanese enterprises and the effective connecting role of the Coordinating Group. This affirms Dong Nai's increasingly clear position in Vietnam - Japan cooperation and opens up prospects for in-depth connections in the field of supporting industries.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc, Deputy Head of the Coordinating Team for the Promotion of Supporting Industry Development in Dong Nai Province, each surveyed enterprise is an important link in completing the Vietnam - Japan supply chain in Dong Nai. The team's consistent viewpoint is to connect to create real value, not just follow the form.
The systematic activities of the Coordinating Team are contributing to affirming Dong Nai's position as a dynamic supporting industry center of the Southern region, where Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises not only meet to cooperate, but also work together to improve capacity and value.
The Dong Nai Province Supporting Industry Development Promotion Coordinator Group was established in May 2019 following the Japanese model, playing the role of a "bridge" between Japanese enterprises and enterprises and training facilities in the province.
Since the beginning of 2025, the team has worked with more than 30 Vietnamese - Japanese enterprises in Dong Nai and neighboring areas, thereby forming many cooperation models such as "supply - technology transfer - product acquisition", supporting Vietnamese enterprises to upgrade processes according to Japanese standards and helping Japanese enterprises approach suitable and transparent partners.
