Regarding the incident of food with a rancid smell being brought into the kitchen of Cu Khe Primary School (Binh Minh Commune, Hanoi ), on October 16, speaking with Tien Phong reporter, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, head of the Culture - Social Department of Binh Minh Commune, said: Immediately after discovering the incident, the Commune People's Committee established an interdisciplinary team of the commune, coordinated with the City Food Safety and Hygiene Department to work with the school and take samples for testing. In addition, the Inspection Team will also work with the unit providing meals and food to clarify related issues.

Regarding the information that parents reported that the Commune People's Committee appointed a contractor instead of holding a bidding to select a meal supplier, Ms. Dao said that the Delegation is conducting an inspection and will notify later.

Also on the morning of October 16, many parents with children studying at Cu Khe Primary School were very worried about their children's health. Ms. Nguyen HB (residing in Binh Minh commune) said that her child is in grade 2 at the school. In previous years, the school did not have any problems with unsafe food. This year, the school changed its food supplier, so it became like this. "Many days when my child came home from school, he complained that the food was not full, not delicious, and there was no fruit," Ms. B shared.

Previously, on October 15, on social media, parents of Cu Khe Primary School reported that the quality of food for the school lunch was not guaranteed. Specifically, many bags of peeled quail eggs brought to the school to prepare lunch for students were smelly and watery.

On the afternoon of October 15, the Department of Culture and Society of Binh Minh commune had a working session with parents, the school and the kitchen food supplier, Nhat Anh Trading and Service Company Limited.

Nhat Anh Trading and Service Company Limited admitted that the food including eggs and meat delivered to Cu Khe Primary School was not put in vacuum bags or in insulated boxes as required; the company's kitchen staff did not follow the procedure for receiving food into the kitchen.

The Binh Minh Commune Department of Culture and Society has requested the company to find another food supplier to ensure food safety and replace kitchen utensils to ensure hygiene. During the post-inspection process, if the company does not fully implement the above conclusions, it will be notified to stop providing meals for boarding students in the commune.
