The voluntary blood donation program "Giving a drop of red blood - Sharing life" was organized by VietinBank Youth Union to arouse the spirit of volunteerism of cadres, party members, union members, youth (YVTN), and employees of VietinBank to participate in social activities, promote the tradition of mutual love of the nation, and supplement the blood reserve for medical facilities to save and treat patients.
The program was deployed from September across the entire VietinBank system, with 24 blood donation points organized with the participation of 82 branches, companies, and units under VietinBank in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and many other provinces and cities, collecting more than 2,000 units of blood to donate to medical facilities across the country.
On October 26, 2024, VietinBank Youth Union coordinated with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and Ba Dinh District Youth Union to organize the Opening Ceremony of the Voluntary Blood Donation Program "Giving a Drop of Red Blood - Sharing Life" in 2024 in Hanoi City. The program had the participation of cadres, party members, youth union members (YU), employees (NLĐ) and relatives from branches, companies, and units under VietinBank in Hanoi City and neighboring provinces (Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Nam Dinh ).
Attending the program were leaders and distinguished guests: Comrade Le Lam - Deputy Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion; Comrade Pham Thu Phuong - Secretary of Ba Dinh District Youth Union; Comrade Do Khac Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Central Enterprises; Comrade Tran Kien Cuong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of VietinBank; Comrade Cat Quang Duong - Member of the Board of Directors of VietinBank; Comrade Doan Thi Kieu Huong - Member of the Central Youth Union, Member of the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of Central Enterprises, Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Standing Committee of the Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Secretary of the Youth Union of VietinBank; Comrade Duong Nhat Hoang - Standing Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Youth Union of VietinBank, along with the presence of leaders of the Blocks, departments, offices of the Head Office, Branches, companies, units under VietinBank, union officials, youth union members of VietinBank, and loyal customers.
At the opening ceremony, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of VietinBank, Comrade Tran Kien Cuong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of VietinBank acknowledged and highly appreciated the Youth Union for having the idea and maintaining the organization of the meaningful Blood Donation Program, which has profound humanistic values; spreading the cultural values of Empathy and Dedication. Comrade Tran Kien Cuong also requested the Youth Union of VietinBank to continue to maintain and expand this meaningful work.
Attending the Program, comrade Le Lam - Deputy Director of the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion shared: "I am extremely impressed with VietinBank because this is a regular organizer and many meaningful events in the voluntary blood donation movement. For example, the Program "Giving a drop of red blood - Sharing life" - a major event of the whole system attracting thousands of volunteers across the country. I am also touched by the volunteer and pioneering spirit of VietinBank people, who participated and provided a large amount of blood to medical facilities to save and treat patients".
Also at the Program, the Standing Committee of VietinBank Youth Union awarded Certificates of Merit to 12 collectives and 18 individuals with outstanding achievements in the voluntary blood donation movement for the period 2022 - 2024.
After the opening program, a large number of volunteers, including cadres, party members, union members, employees, and loyal customers of VietinBank, were present at the Quan Ngua Palace Stadium, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, to participate in health check-ups and follow safe blood donation procedures. The collected blood will be transferred to hospitals and medical facilities to help patients in need of blood to sustain their lives, as well as to overcome the current blood shortage.
Summarizing the voluntary blood donation program "Giving a drop of red blood - Sharing life" in 2024, the total amount of blood contributed to medical facilities across the VietinBank system is 3,000 units of blood. Through this, each officer and employee of VietinBank hopes to promote and better implement this practical activity to help patients, spread love and responsibility to the community and society.
