The Vietnamese rowing team won the bronze medal in the women's heavyweight quadruple sculls event.
The four athletes Dinh Thi Hao, Du Thi Bong, Ha Thi Vui, and Pham Thi Hue finished third with a time of 6 minutes 52 seconds 35. The first and second place teams were China (6 minutes 42 seconds 03) and Japan (6 minutes 47 seconds 04), respectively.
This is the first medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 19th Asian Games.
Pham Thi Hue shared: " I am honored to win this medal. This is the result of the efforts of the four of us sisters to bring glory to Vietnamese sports. Although it's only a bronze medal, it's a motivation for us to keep striving together ."

Also this morning, the pair of athletes Nguyen Thi Giang and Pham Thi Thao finished only 6th overall in the women's double sculls final.
On the morning of September 24th, the Vietnamese sports delegation received more good news from the Taekwondo team.
Vietnamese martial artist Tran Ho Duy has qualified for the semi-finals of the performance event. He is guaranteed a medal as this event awards two bronze medals to the semi-final losers. This afternoon at 2 PM, Tran Ho Duy will face Kang Wan-jin of South Korea.
On the first day of the Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation competed in 14 sports including shooting, boxing, men's football, table tennis, swimming, chess, fencing, esports, judo, rowing, taekwondo, tennis, gymnastics, and wushu.
