On the afternoon of December 11th, Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu missed out on the gold medal in gymnastics due to a complaint from the Philippine team.

During her performance, Quynh Nhu executed a clean move, landed firmly, and received the highest score as soon as the electronic scoreboard displayed the result. The Vietnamese technical team began celebrating. However, the joy was quickly extinguished when the Philippines filed a complaint.

After several minutes of deliberation and reviewing the video footage, the judging panel announced they accepted the appeal. The score of the Philippine athlete was adjusted in their favor, thus surpassing Quynh Nhu's performance. The decision was read aloud, and just a few minutes later, the results board was updated. The Philippines won the gold medal, and Vietnam lost the silver.

In the team's area, Quynh Nhu sat down quietly, her eyes red with regret. Her teammates and coach constantly encouraged her, but the disappointment was still evident on the young girl's face as she had just lost the glory she thought she had firmly in her grasp.

In a rare moment of sportsmanship, the Filipino athlete stepped into the Vietnamese team's area. She gently gave Quynh Nhu a comforting hug. The image somewhat eased the tense atmosphere, but it couldn't hide the disappointment of losing the gold medal at the last minute.

Despite only winning the silver medal, Quynh Nhu still deserves respect because her performance was convincing enough to stand on the highest podium.
