"Do you think it's time to set term limits in Washington D.C.?" The Hill quoted Haley as saying at a rally in Conway, South Carolina. "Do you think we need to conduct mental capacity tests for anyone over 75?" Haley added.

"The U.S. Congress is becoming the most privileged nursing home in the country," Haley remarked.

Ms. Haley stressed that it is crucial for American voters to know that those making important decisions about the future of the economy and national security must be the best and most capable people.

Ms. Haley, 52, has repeatedly attacked the age of her political opponents, including President Biden (82) and former President Donald Trump (78).

Having won again, Trump says his opponent has no chance.

The former US Ambassador to the UN believes it's time for the US Congress to elect younger leaders, after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell suddenly froze for several seconds while answering questions from reporters in September 2023.

McConnell, who is 82 years old, the same age as Biden, has so far refused to retire despite widespread concerns about his health.
