FPT holds the copyright of the Premier League from January 1, 2026. |
FPT Telecom, through the FPT Play platform, took over the English Premier League copyright contract. FPT Play became a rare unit in Vietnam to provide the rights to broadcast the English Premier League, after many OTT applications (services that transmit content directly to users via the Internet - PV) and other stations stopped distributing the K+ package since last July.
"From January 2026, FPT Play officially owns the copyright to broadcast the Premier League in Vietnam until the end of the 2030/31 season, with all high-quality matches, ensuring an uninterrupted viewing experience for at least the next 5.5 years for Vietnamese fans," FPT's announcement said.
FPT Play's acquisition of the English Premier League copyright marks an important step forward in the OTT strategy in Vietnam, as this platform becomes the only destination for football fans who want to watch copyrighted matches.
Thus, from 2026, Vietnamese audiences will witness a major shift in power in the television and OTT market, creating a turning point in the way fans watch the world's top tournament.
