On April 8, comrade Nguyen Long Bien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee worked with the Department of Education and Training (DoET) on the implementation of tasks for the 2023-2024 school year. Attending the meeting were leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities.

According to the Department of Education and Training, by September 2023, the whole province had 296 preschool and general education establishments and 2 centers; the total number of cadres, civil servants and public employees in the sector was 10,401 people. There is still a shortage of public preschool and general education teachers in many localities in the province. The structure of the teaching staff is still unbalanced between subjects at the same level, between regions with different socio -economic conditions; the surplus and shortage of teachers is still common in many localities; the target of allocating teachers to localities is mostly lower than the actual needs. Although there has been investment in facilities and teaching equipment, it has not yet met the necessary needs. The work of reviewing, arranging and reorganizing the network of schools and teaching staff in the period of 2021-2025 has achieved 80% of the set plan. By December 2023, the whole province will have 159 kindergartens and general schools that meet national standards. The whole province will meet the standards for universal preschool education (PCGD) for 5-year-old children; meet the standards for primary and secondary education and level 1 illiteracy eradication. The quality of mass education and key education has many positive changes with 27 students winning prizes in the national high school excellent student selection exam, and half of the participating projects won fourth prize in the national science and technology competition for high school students in the 2023-2024 school year.

At the meeting, the Department of Education and Training proposed that the Provincial People's Committee have a policy and allocate investment capital to upgrade the facilities of Pi Nang Tac Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Bac Ai); relevant departments and branches should soon advise the Provincial People's Committee to allocate the remaining capital in accordance with the spirit of Plan No. 228/KH-UBND, assign staffing according to the spirit of the norms of each level of education and organize the teaching of ethnic minority languages (Ninh Phuoc district)...

Speaking at the working session, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the efforts and results achieved by the education and training sector in recent times. He pointed out a number of shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome; at the same time, he requested the entire sector to continue promoting the spirit of innovation, responsibility, solidarity, creativity, and strive to successfully implement the tasks, goals, and targets for 2024; promote digital transformation; continue to review and rearrange the network of schools and teaching staff; increase investment in modern facilities, build schools that meet national standards; perfect the organization and personnel of education management agencies and education and training institutions at all levels to ensure streamlining, effectiveness, and efficiency; focus on reviewing and supplementing mechanisms and policies related to education and training; improve the quality of comprehensive education; focus on the quality of education in mountainous areas, ethnic minority areas, especially disadvantaged areas, and key education; Strengthening political and ideological education, ethics, lifestyle, and life skills for students; building secure and safe schools, a healthy and friendly educational environment, and preventing school violence... Along with that, the education and training sector continues to consolidate and improve the quality of general education, eliminate illiteracy, and stream students after junior high school; innovate financial mechanisms, grant autonomy in finance and assets; effectively use and manage investment sources; promote socialization, build mechanisms and policies to attract and encourage society to invest in developing high-quality schools at all levels and training levels according to social needs...
